“2 Hours Exercise and 6 Hours Sleep”: Amit Shah Shares Secret Behind Fitness and Diabetes Recovery

During a recent address, Amit Shah the Union Home Minister, described his diabetes journey alongside his fitness transformation, which he connected to time-bound routines leading to enhanced physical condition. On World Liver Day at the Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences (ILBS) event, Shah explained how sleep, along with diet and daily exercise, brings about complete health benefits.
Addressing a gathering that included doctors, officials, and students, Shah advised the youth to take charge of their health by following a simple yet effective routine. "I have achieved a very big change since May 2019 till now. By having the right amount of sleep, pure water, food, and exercise, I have achieved much in life. In the last 4.5 years, I have become free from all allopathic medicines," he shared, reflecting on his journey toward reversing diabetes and embracing a healthier lifestyle.

Shah urged everyone, especially young people, to understand the importance of a balanced lifestyle. "Dedicate two hours of exercise for their body and six hours of sleep for their brain. This would be extremely useful. This is my own experience," he said, underlining the critical role of physical and mental rest in maintaining overall health.
His candid revelations received a warm response from the audience, many of whom were inspired by his commitment to personal health amidst his demanding schedule as a top government leader.
During the same ceremony, Shah opened an Integrated Liver Rehabilitation Centre at ILBS, reaffirming the government's effort to promote specialized healthcare in India. The new center will offer state-of-the-art liver care and rehabilitation treatment to patients all over the country.
He also took a moment to explore a unique cartoon gallery organized around the theme of liver health. While appreciating the creative initiative, Shah added a personal touch with a bit of humor. "I enjoy cartoons, including those based on me," he said, drawing smiles from the audience.
The event attracted several important representatives which included Delhi Lieutenant Governor Vinai Saxena along with Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta.
Through his presentation, Shah demonstrated how government initiatives designed to elevate citizen health levels affect the broader Indian society. His presentation featured three programs: Ujjwala Yojna, Khelo India, and Fit India because they specifically serve the purpose of publichealth and wellness.
He also highlighted the dramatic increase in funding for the health sector every year; "The Union Budget had an outlay of Rs 1.27 lakh crore for health, a significant increase from Rs 37,000 crore in 2014," Shah said this was a reflection of the Centre's commitment to improving health service delivery and healthcare access.
The importance of choosing health through everyday actions emerged as a strong lesson from Amit Shah as he addressed audiences on the occasion of World Liver Day.
