    Strongly Suspected Hoax Caller Arrested in Nagpur

    A person, suspected of making bomb threats to airlines, banks, and various other organizations has been arrested from Maharashtra’s Nagpur.

    The suspect, who made fake bomb calls to airlines, hotels, banks and other places continuously and intermittently for several days has been arrested in Nagpur, Maharashtra. Presumably, as per a news channel, the arrested one hoax caller is 35 yrs old person “Jagdish Uikey” of Gondia. He was previously detained in 2021 also. Gondia is a city and municipal council in the Indian state of Maharashtra. It is well-known for having a thriving culture and a legendary past.

    This mischievously nuisance person has harmed various organizations severely as per precious time, money and undue restlessness to the sufferers. The details about him and his actions are being probed at high end, and concrete results are awaited.

    Only in 14 days, more than 350 flights operated by the Indian carriers received hoax bomb threats. Bomb threats to Indian flights were still continuing; and at least 50 flights were targeted recently, with that cumulative total hoax call surmounts to 350 Mark.

    The civil aviation ministry is also taking strict and legislative measures to address the issue of hoax threats targeting airlines.

    At least 50 flights operated by Indian airlines received bomb threats on this very Sunday, sources reported. Over the past two weeks, more than 350 flights faced similar hoax threats, primarily communicated through social media.

    Akasa Air announced that 15 of its flights triggered security alerts, but after thorough inspections, all aircraft were cleared for operation. IndiGo reported threats for 18 flights, while Vistara had 17 affected flights.

    Some of the IndiGo flights which received threats include 6E-11 from Delhi to Istanbul, 6E-92 from Jeddah to Mumbai, 6E-112 from Goa to Ahmedabad, 6E-125 from Bengaluru to Jharsuguda, 6E-127 from Amritsar to Ahmedabad, 6E-135 from Kolkata to Pune, 6E-149 from Hyderabad to Bagdogra, 6E-173 from Delhi to Bengaluru, 6E-175 from Bengaluru to Delhi, 6E-197 from Raipur to Hyderabad, 6E-248 from Mumbai to Kolkata, 6E-277 from Ahmedabad to Lucknow, 6E-312 from Bengaluru to Kolkata, 6E-235 from Kolkata to Bengaluru, and 6E-74 from Riyadh to Mumbai.

    In line with strict safety protocols, necessary precautions were being taken, and relevant authorities kept working closely, as the safety and security of the customers, citizens and crew always stand top priority. However, during this all maintaining of high-end understanding by all, in spite of utter inconvenience is highly applaudable.

    In response to the surge in hoax bomb threats, the IT Ministry had also urged social media platforms to adhere to due diligence requirements, emphasizing the need to promptly remove or disable access to misinformation within the timelines set by IT regulations.

    The threats have caused significant disruption, with many flights diverted and operations delayed. The minister had called for thorough investigation into the threats, which have caused hundreds of crores of rupees losses.
