As per a reliable news agency, an entire Coach of Delhi-Amritsar Shatabdi Express goes ‘Missing’ at Delhi Railway Station on 16th November 2024. The train was scheduled to depart at 7:20 am, when it did not budge, the passengers came out to check what was causing the delay. They found an entire boogie was missing, and this led to an uproar at the railway station.
Chaos was seen at the Station after the Shatabdi Express did not depart despite crossing the departure time of 7:20 am. It left passengers angry who, when tried to know what happened, were left shocked. The authorities had failed to include an entire coach in the train.
A video on X showed people in a large number confronting the ‘Railway Police Force (RPF)’ personnel and other officials. Some even mentioned on the social media platform that they were told an executive coach was missing which caused the delay.
According to a report, the railway authorities admitted to the error and said the executive coach was not attached to the train due to a logistical oversight. They added that efforts were underway to address the issue. On this, passengers expressed anger over the inconvenience and criticized the lack of communication from railway staff.
“We have meetings to attend, such an oversight is unacceptable,” an area sales manager for Orkla Intl, who was going to Ludhiana, told.
A businessman, who had a meeting at 12 pm in Ludhiana, was jilted and said, “How can they fail to attach a complete bogey? This needs an inquiry.”
One of the users wrote on X: “Most pathetic experience. Sitting in Amritsar Shatabadi train. Not started yet. I didn’t know the exact reason but sources say because they are adding one more coach, they have decided to punish passengers sitting in 15 coaches. @AshwiniVaishnaw @indianrail @NorthenRailway.”
As per passengers’ post on X, the train had not departed till 8:30 am (after a delay of over one hour). However, the live train tracking apps show that train was running late by two hours and had reached Ludhiana by the time of filing of this report.
Meanwhile, an official statement from the Northern Railway zone was awaited when this report was filed.
