    When the World’s Tallest Woman Meets the Smallest, Celebrates Guinness World Records Day

    In a world filled with everyday wonders, some moments truly capture everyday life and bring a smile to your face. Recently, such a delightful moment was captured when the world’s tallest woman met the world’s smallest woman. Their encounter reminds us of the beauty in our differences to make extraordinary connections.

    Notably, these two exceptional women, Jyoti Amge and Rumeysa Gelgi (the shortest and tallest living, respectively), celebrated together the 20th annual Guinness World Records Day on Wednesday, November 20, 2024. Both of them met for the first time at a lush afternoon tea at The Savoy Hotel, London.

    These women have been honored as the Guinness World Record icons in the book’s 70th anniversary edition. In the book, they have been featured alongside some other GWR icons, such as Diana Armstrong, the woman with the largest fingernails, Sultan Kosen, the world’s tallest man, etc.

    When Rumeysa Met Jyoti

    Embodying some of the most iconic titles at the Guinness World Records, they were seen spending a lavish girl day out together.

    Despite a whopping height difference of approx. 152.36 cm (5 feet), they became friends with each other the moment they met for a traditional tea date. They bonded over life experiences and shared their enthusiasm for fashion and self-care.

    “Meeting Jyoti for the first time was wonderful. She’s the most generous lady. I was waiting for a long time to meet her,” said Rumeysa while sharing her experience after meeting Jyoti.

    Talking about their hobbies, Rumeysa added, “We do have things in common! We both love makeup, self-care, jewelry, and doing our nails.”

    She further shared that together they have shared fabulous time. They engaged in long discussions, sharing about their passions and hobbies, and exchanged several make-up and health care tips.

    “It was difficult for us to make eye contact at times due to our height differences, but it was great,” Rumeysa added.

    While Jyoti was also looking pleased to meet her, “I am used to looking up and seeing people taller than me. But I was so happy to look up today and see the world’s tallest woman,” she noted.

    Jyoti was delighted to meet Rumeysa. She applauded her warm nature and said she “felt very comfortable while talking to her.”

    World’s Tallest Woman Living Rumeysa Gelgi

    Additionally, Rumeysa Gelgi has a rare condition called Weaver syndrome. It is a rare genetic syndrome that causes accelerated growth and skeletal deformities. She uses a wheelchair and can only stand using a walker for some time. However, despite these health challenges, she refused to look back and stand up for herself.

    Born on January 1, 1997, Rumeysa Gelgi is a Turkish advocate, researcher, and web developer. She stands 125.16 cm (7 ft 0.7 inches) tall. She holds the Guinness World record for being the tallest woman living.

    She has achieved a significant milestone in her profession. She also uses her own platform to raise awareness about rare diseases and conditions like hers. She is also a passionate swimmer and avid reader of crime novels.

    Jyoti Amge, The Shortest Woman Living

    A Hollywood star, the first thing you will notice about Jyoti is her charismatic and signature smile. Hailing from Nagpur, India, and born on December 16, 1993, Jyoti is a Guiness World Record Holder. Her height is caused by a bone growth disorder called achondroplasia, affecting her arms and legs.

    She has also worked as a model or actress across the country. She gained international fame after being featured first in a documentary called “Body Shock: Two-Foot-Tall Teen” in 2009. Later, she also got a chance to appear in various Indian television series called Bigg Boss Season 6 as a guest participant. She is also known for her role as Ma Petite in the fourth season of the American TV series named “American Horror Story: Freak Show.”.

    In addition to this, she is also inspiring people across the world through various social initiatives to have a positive outlook towards life.
