    Army Personnel Dies of Cardiac Arrest During Search Operations in Srinagar

    In a recent turn of events, army personnel died of cardiac arrest on Friday, December 6, 2024, during a search operation in the upper areas of Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir.

    The soldier identified as Jaswinder Singh from the Army’s 34 Assam Rifles suffered cardiac arrest while searching for terrorists in the Faqeer Gujri area of Harwan, which is the forested area of Jammu and Kashmir, as reported by the officials.

    Notably, search operations have been launched in Srinagar’s forest area to trace more terrorists, following a terrorist who was gunned down in a recent encounter on Tuesday, December 3, 2024. According to the reports, the officials launched a search operation in the upper areas of Dachhigam, Srinagar.

    The officials launched a cordon-and-search operation in the upper reaches of Dacchigham, which later escalated into a gunfight after terrorists opened fire. In the gunshot exchange, a security personnel and a terrorist were claimed.

    The Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist, who was killed, has been identified as a “A” terrorist who was involved in the October 20 attack, which took place near a Ganderbal tunnel construction site. The attack resulted in several fatalities, including a local doctor and six non-local laborers.

    Indian Army extends Condolences

    Meanwhile, taking to their official X handle, the Indian Army honored the late army personnel, who laid down his life while on duty in Jammu and Kashmir. “General Upendra Dwivedi, COAS, and all ranks of the Indian Army salute the supreme sacrifice of Braveheart Rifleman Jaswinder Singh, who laid down his life in the line of duty in Jammu and Kashmir.”

    “Indian Army offers its deepest condolences and stands firm with the bereaved family in this hour of grief,” the post further stated.

    In another post, the army’s Chinar Corps expressed their deepest condolences and regret over the unfortunate demise of Rifleman Singh.

    “Chinar Corps regrets the unfortunate and untimely demise of Rfn Jaswinder Singh while on operational duty. In this hour of grief, the Indian Army stands in solidarity with the bereaved family and is committed to their support,” the post reads.

    Recent Attack in Pulwama District

    Additionally, the Indian Army, along with the Jammu and Kashmir Police, also launched a search operation after an army jawan was attacked by terrorists at Tral in the Pulwama district. The army jawan sustained several injuries, including a gunshot wound to his leg. However, he has been in stable condition now, and the area has been cordoned off by security forces.
