“There is a clear lack of transparency in the conduct of examinations of NEET PG 2024 since none of the documents which can allow a student to check their performance are supplied by the respondents i.e. neither the question paper, nor the Response sheet filled in by candidates. The case which was deferred by Justice BR Gavai, could not be heard as other petitions are ongoing.
“Just ask someone to mention the matter tomorrow. If counselling is over, we will dispose of the matter. It’s not like we will order fresh counselling.” Justice BR Gavai Said.
What Petitioners demand for NEET PG-2024 Examinations
The petition which was filed in the supreme court last year put several demands in front of NTA. They call for transparency in the NEET PG 2024 exam, including the release of answer keys and question papers. Furthermore, the petitions demand to change exam format, as according to goes against the guidelines of the National Board of Examinations (NBE).

The petition said that just by looking at the score cards, the students found that there was a inconsistency in the total number of questions attempted by them, different from the score card issued to them. There is a fundamental flaw in the conduct of the examination in this way.

NEET PG System or normalization
It has been said in the petition that AIIMS system-based normalization process was implemented in the session-1 and session-2 examination of NEET PG 2024, in which tie-breaking was done till decimal 7. This system is considered arbitrary.
The bench made by formal Chief Justice of India D.Y Chandrachud sought response in the examination. CJI DY Chandrachud said the “Committee constituted by the government should suggest steps to “prevent and detect” any irregularities.
While hearing the NEET UG 2024 controversy in the Supreme Court, a three-member bench headed by Chief Justice of India DY ChandraChud has ruled not to conduct this examination again.
Delayed counseling impacts NEET PG candidates
The case was deferred four times last year, first on 19 September to October 4 because of the absence of any representative from the central Government. Further delayed hearings pushed the case from October 25 then November 19 and finally November 26 respectively, because of conflicts in dates with the judiciary proceedings. Furthermore, counseling was postponed in several states like Telangana, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan, which left the candidates in chaos in those states.
