As per some of the reliable news agencies, the investigating police had spotted the intruder-cum-stabber while examining the CCTV footage of the building. He was seen armed with a wooden stick and a long Hexa blade, while fleeing after the attack.

The Mumbai Police has arrested the attacker in the morning hours of Friday of the 17th of January 2025. He is being considered the accused of stabbing Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan.

Saif was stabbed by an intruder at his Highrise apartment in upscale Bandra in Mumbai on Thursday.

As per initial investigation, the attack on Saif took place during a “burglary attempt” in the apartment housed in ‘Satguru Sharan’ building. The CCTV footage of the building exhibited the intruder.

The footage, captured at 2.33 am, clearly showed the young suspect’s face. He was seen wearing a brown collared T-shirt and red scarf while descending the stairs on the sixth floor of the building.

In a fresh revelation in the Saif Ali Khan attack case, Mumbai Police suspect that the intruder who stabbed the actor also conducted a recce of Shah Rukh Khan’s residence earlier this week. Following the attack on Saif, a police team visited Shah Rukh Khan’s residence “Mannat” to further investigate the matter.

Saif had sustained six stab injuries after being attacked by the intruder in his Bandra home late Wednesday night. Surgery was performed to remove the knife and repair leaking spinal fluid. The actor is now out of danger.

Police sources said suspicious movement was seen near Shah Rukh Khan‘s residence also on January 14. A person attempted to observe the premises by placing a 6-8 feet long iron ladder at the rear side of the retreat house adjacent to Mannat.

Police suspect that the person who conducted the recce could be the same individual involved in the attack on Saif Ali Khan. The CCTV footage recovered from Mannat showed that the person’s height and build closely resembles the suspect seen in the footage obtained from Saif’s flat.

Moreover, sources indicate that the person is unlikely to have acted alone. Sources said the iron ladder placed at Shah Rukh Khan’s residence is believed to be too heavy for a single person to handle, suggesting the involvement of at least two to three people in the incident.

While Shah Rukh has not filed any complaint regarding the incident, the police are taking the matter seriously. Police are probing whether the ladder used for the recce was reported stolen.

Meanwhile, the police have detained a suspect in connection with the attack on Saif Ali Khan. The attacker, however, is yet to be arrested, with over 35 hours having passed since the incident at Satguru Sharan apartment.

Mumbai police had formed 35 teams to track down and nab the intruder, who also injured two staffers of the actor.

It is now said that the attacker entered the actor Saif’s home through the fire exit staircase with the likely intent to commit burglary and stayed there for hours. The 54-year-old actor underwent surgery after a serious injury to the spinal cord; he is currently stable. CCTV footage had revealed the  the suspect was seen carrying a backpack.

The intruder had fled the scene following a scuffle with Khan in the wee hours between 2 a.m. and 3 a.m. on Thursday. The police had questioned three staff members from the actor’s house. In the afternoon, a forensic team from the Mumbai Police was seen leaving Saif’s apartment after collecting fingerprints. An FIR was registered at the Bandra police station.

Prior to this a score of happenings had been there. Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan was injured after an intruder entered his and Kareena Kapoor’s home in Mumbai’s Bandra. The actor underwent emergency surgeries.

Saif was injured after a robber barged into his residence at Bandra (west) and allegedly stabbed him. The incident occurred around 2:30 am on Thursday night when the actor was sleeping in his house along with his other family members.

It is being said that Saif Ali Khan tried to protect his house help when he was attacked with a knife. The police said the robber fled from the scene after occupants of the house woke up.

Police were trying to trace him. The Bandra police were in the process of registering an FIR and several police teams had been formed to nab the culprit.

After that many stitches were made in the stab wounds, and it was said that actor is ‘lucky’ as all his organs were safe from the severe attack with a sharpened tool.

A senior IPS officer had confirmed the incident. Khan had been admitted to the Lilavati hospital, where he underwent treatment. Then, it was not clear whether he was stabbed or injured in the scuffle with the robber. Lilavati Hospital sources had said that one injury was deep which received 10 stitches, but it did not affect his spine. Two injuries were deep, two mild and two superficial.

Later, it was declared that the actor was out of danger, as a 3 inches long sharpened edge of a knife was successfully drawn out of his spine, without any damage to the nerves in that area.

The actor’s family was with him at the hospital. Kareena and Saif, who have been married since 2012, live in the Satguru Sharan building in Mumbai’s Bandra West. The couple’s two sons – Taimur (8) and Jeh (4) – also live with them.

A new update came across in the Saif Ali Khan’s stabbing case.

It was earlier reported that a suspect was brought for questioning regarding Saif Ali Khan’s stabbing case in Bandra police station. But now Mumbai Police refuted such claims and stated that no one has been detained related to the case.

Mumbai Police said “The person brought to Bandra police station for questioning is not related to the Saif Ali Khan Attack Case. No one is detained in Saif Ali Khan Attack Case of now.”

On the other hand, Maharashtra Junior Minister for Home (Urban) Yogesh Kadam said “It was an attempt of theft only and there is no gang involved in this incident…police are further probing the case. Saif Ali Khan never asked for any Security. This attack was not part of any gang. The accused had entered the house with the motive of theft only. A scuffle broke out between Saif Ali Khan and the suspect in which the actor got injured.”

The actor was admitted to Lilavati Hospital on Thursday where he had two surgeries. Giving the health update, Dr Nitin Dange from the hospital said that the actor is safe and is out from the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

While speaking at a press conference, the doctor also mentioned how Saif Ali Khan walked in like a lion with his young child. He said, “He had blood all over. But he walked in like a lion with his young child. He is a real hero. He is doing well currently. His parameters have improved. He is being shifted from the ICU to a special room. We will keep visitors in check. We want him to rest.”

Earlier in the day, the Mumbai Police informed that they had taken possession of a portion of the blade extracted from Saif Ali Khan’s back. The police also stated that the attacker was last seen near Bandra railway station. The investigation is currently going on in this matte
