FIIT-JEE is mainly a coaching institute that prepares students for competitive exams. Recent reports reveal that these coaching centers have been shut down across various key states in India including Delhi-NCR, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, and Madhya Pradesh in the last few weeks
Centers Closed in These Areas
The centers that have been situated in Delhi’s Laxmi Nagar area and Noida Sector 62, certain branches in Uttar Pradesh, Meerut, Ghaziabad, Lucknow, Varanasi, Bhopal, Andheri, Kandivali, Thane and Navi Mumbai in Maharashtra have been closed due to mass resignations of the teachers working there. The coaching center situated at Ghaziabad’s Raj Nagar shut down 10 days ago after receiving various complaints from the parents as the exam preparations were halted affecting the student’s academic preparations. The first phase of the JEE Mains examination has just now begun on January 22nd.
Students’ Future at Stake
A complaint was raised by a student’s parent at Laxmi Nagar Center situated in Delhi claiming that she had paid about Rs 3.40 lakhs for the four-year course as her child is now in the 11th grade. A few days back the center was closed without giving any prior notice. The parents found out that many staff members resigned because no salaries were given to them. She then sadly stated that her child’s future is at stake now as the entrance exams are approaching. She also stated that they are now being approached by the institute to rejoin asserting teachers have joined again and as parents we have no other option left other than to consider rejoining. The complaints from the parents also mentioned that the teachers at the institute were not given salaries prompting the district school inspector to launch a complaint after which the police have taken a serious look into the case.
