One of the most anticipated movies of the year Tandel starring Sai Pallavi and Naga Chaitanya is soon going to release this month. The Tandel pre-release event had our Arjun Reddy Director Sandeep Reddy Vangas as the Chief guest. While Speaking at the event, the director revealed a shocking truth that wants us to believe that it could have happened.
Sai Pallavi Was First Choice For Arjun Reddy
The Malayalam actress who has recently tasted success with her Tamil movie Amaran alongside Shiva Karthikeyan was once considered to play the role of Shalini in the movie Arjun Reddy. This was told himself by the director at the pre-release event of the Tandel movie
While speaking at the event Sandeep revealed that he was a long-time fan of Sai Pallavi since he saw Premam and wanted to cast her in the Arjun Reddy movie but faced certain challenges in the casting process to cast her for that role.
Tried Hard To Cast Her
The Animal movie director, when inquired about casting Sai Pallavi for the Arjun Reddy movie, said that he received a negative response from the coordinator. He was told to forget about casting her for the movie as she would never wear sleeveless clothes and would not do intimate scenes as per the requirement of the movie.
Sandeep’s Appreciation
Sandeep Reddy also praised Sai Pallavi for maintaining high standards and integrity as an actress, which is very rare to see nowadays. Regarding this, he stated that he did not have an option of not casting Sai Pallavi from in the movie as he needed someone who would do the romantic scenes.
Naga Chaitanya Influenced the Looks of Kabir Singh
While speaking at the event he also mentioned something about the Tandel movie’s hero, Naga Chaitanya that caught our attention. He said that real-life looks influenced the looks of characters in his Hindi movies, Kabir Singh and Animal. further said that he has personally asked his costume designer to take references from real lives for his characters – Naga Chaitanya was a perfect reference for his characters. also stated that he had never revealed this information before but thought of doing it today.
He said, ” For some reason even without knowing certain actors you have a special inclination toward them, and Chaitaniya is one of them”. concluded his speech by wishing the very best for Naga Chaitanya for his upcoming movie Tandel.
Sai Pallavi’s Response
In response to Sandeep’s statement regarding her, she replied that Arjun Reddy is of course a brilliant filmmaker. She praised the performances of the lead actors, stating that certain roles are destined for certain actors. Hence, she believes that this is what happened with Arjun Reddy too.
Well though Sai Pallavi missed out on the role, the movie ultimately turned out to be a blockbuster, that could not be forgotten in recent times
Well on the work front, Sai Pallavi is gearing up for her upcoming Movie Tandel, releasing on February 7th. Directed by Chandoo Mondeti, the film is inspired by the real-life events involving fishermen from Srikakulam who accidentally drifted into Pakistani waters.
