Asia’s wealthiest man, Mukesh Ambani, hosted a lavish three-day wedding celebration at the Jio World Centre in Mumbai for his youngest son. Anant Ambani and pharmaceutical heiress Radhika Merchant tied the knot on 12th July 2024. The wedding featured sophisticated security measures, such as color-coded wristbands and QR codes that allowed guests to enter designated areas of the venue.
Color-coded wristbands that indicated access to various zones and QR codes sent to individual phones were used to control entry to the venue. There was a multi-layered security system in place, along with comprehensive emergency plans and medical response readiness comparable to that of heads of state.
Ahead of a red carpet-style arrival event, police closed the roads around the Ambani-owned Jio World Convention Center.
Wedding Budget
Although the Ambani’s have not disclosed the exact amount, an event management owner suggested that it is at least Rs 132$ million to Rs 156$ million or between Rs 11 and Rs 13 billion.
Wedding Guests
A pre-wedding event featuring Justin Bieber held in the final days leading up to the wedding weekend. International celebrities like Kim and Khloe Kardashian, actor John Cena, and former British PM Tony Blair and Boris Johnson attended the wedding.
Law Roach, Zendaya’s longtime stylist, showed up in a mauve velvet jacket, and Priyanka Chopra Jonas along with her husband Nick Jonas added to the glam quotient.
Sanjay Dutt wore a black sherwani with embroidery, while Anil Kapoor wore a Bandh gala. Varun Dhawan and Venkatesh, music director A.R Rahman and his wife, Jackie Shroff, Rajkumar Rao, and Ananya Panday, along with director-producer Karan Johar, all wore traditional Indian attire.

The vent hall covered in confetti as the Indian actor Ranveer Singh danced passionately to a song called “Tattad Tattad”. Bollywood stars Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan danced together. Actress Ananya Panda and Indian cricketer Hardik Pandya danced to the song “Zoobi Doobi”.
One of the last Hindu wedding customs, the “Shubh Ashirwad” ceremony took place on 13 July 2024. It entails a newlywed couple asking elders and priests for their blessings, or Ashirwad in Sanskrit.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi also attended the ceremony “Shubh Ashirwad”. Also, there were several current and former chief ministers of state.
Bride and Groom Outfit
The groom wore a golden and red sherwani and sneakers for the ceremony. The bride looked stunning in hand-embroidered bridal gown from Indian designer Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla. Merchant dressed in an extravagant ivory ensemble with red offcuts, adhering to the Gujarati tradition of wearing red and white.
It had a 16-foot-long sequined and stone-studded veil and a long Ghaghara, or traditional skirt, with a detachable train that was almost seven feet long.
The marriage of Anant and Radhika was full of love, customs, and happy festivities that gathered loved ones, friends, and celebrities. There was a sense of warmth and companionship between them as they exchanged vows.
