A car accident has claimed the lives of at least seven people and left one seriously injured when it rammed into a trailer truck near Himatnagar in Gujrat’s Sabarkantha district. The incident took place earlier in the morning on Wednesday, September 25, 2024.
Following the incident, the police and fire department reached the spot and began the investigation process.
The local police reported that the speeding car was carrying several passengers from Shamlaji to Ahmedabad when it hit the trailer from behind while it was going ahead on a national highway.
The Deputy Superintendent of Police, AK Patel, reported, “Today morning, a car collided with a heavy vehicle on Himatnagar highway. Seven people traveling in the car are dead and one person is injured. All of them were residents of Ahmedabad.”
Fatal Car Accident in Delhi
Notably, the accident in Gujrat came a few days after a 19-year-old Delhi University Student died in a fatal accident. While four of his friends sustained several injuries after their speeding SUV struck a guardrail. The incident took place near Rajghat in North Delhi. In an investigation into the matter, it’s been reported that they were returning from Gurugram after celebrating the teenager’s birthday. The five friends drove to Zee Town, a pub in Gurugram on Wednesday, when the incident happened.
The vehicle was being driven at a very high speed when the driver lost control. The car climbed onto the divider at the intersection of the main road and crashed into a guardrail.
Madhya Pradesh Car Accident Rams into Overloaded Truck
The previous day, a similar incident was reported from Madhya Pradesh’s Damoh on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, in which seven people lost their lives in a tragic road accident. The incident occurred after a speeding truck rammed into an overloaded auto. Three others were also left severely injured and were immediately rushed to the hospital.
Reportedly, the case has been registered at Dehat Police Station. In a recent probe into the matter, a truck rammed into an auto at Bandakpur road near Samanna Village of Damoh. It got stuck with an autorickshaw carrying about 10 people.
