Former United States President Donald Trump claimed that his life is under a “Big Threat”. He made the statement following the US intelligence officials warned him about the serious and real threats from Iran to assassinate him. He also shared that the attempts made earlier by Iran were unsuccessful, but he believes they will try again.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter) earlier on Wednesday, September 25, 2024 (as per IST) Trump noted, “Big Threats on my life by Iran. The entire US Military is watching and waiting. Moves were already made by Iran that didn’t work out, but they will try again. Not a good situation for anyone. I am surrounded by more men, guns, and weapons than I have ever seen before,”
He further also thanked US Congress for allocating more budget to Secret Service without any opposition.
“Thank You to Congress for unanimously approving far more money to Secret Service0- Zero “No” Votes, Strictly Bipartisan. Nice to see Republicans and Democrats get together on something,” Trump added.
Iran denied allegations
Meanwhile, Iran has denied the accusations, calling them unsubstantiated and malicious. The Iranian officials have called these claims a strategy and a part of a broader campaign to tarnish Iran’s reputation.
US reports Assassination Attempts against Trump
Previously, Steven Cheung, Trump’s campaign communications director also shared in a statement that the US intelligence officials have identified that these continued and coordinated attacks have heightened in the past few months.
“Law enforcement officials across all agencies are working to ensure President Trump is protected and the election is free from interference,” he noted.
This to be noted that in July 2024, US officials uncovered a plot by Iran to assassinate Trump, which led to an increase in security of Trump around his campaign rallies.
Man, who attacked Former US President Trump in Florida
Recently, a 58-year-old man was arrested for the apparent assassination attempt of the former US President, Donald Trump. He allegedly stalked Trump’s golf property in Florida for 12 hours. The suspect identified as Ryan Wesley Routh was initially charged with two federal firearm offenses. The other allegations include a five-count indictment for pointing a rifle through the foliage to kill the Republican nominee.
Previous Attempt to Kill Trump
This is not the first time the US former President has been targeted, earlier in July this year, Trump sustained injuries on one of his ears after a gunman fired several rounds of rifle during a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. The suspect, identified as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks shot a total of eight rounds from an AR-15 rifle, which struck in Trump’s ear and caused one death and two injuries among the audience. Meanwhile, he was immediately shot dead by the Secret Service on the spot.
