    Delhi Police’s Ganji Chudail Campaign: A Witchy Way to Stay Safe!

    Delhi Police has recently come up with a creative approach to deliver message and inspire people about public safety. In one of their posts on social media, they evoked a widely recognized meme icon called, “Ganji Chudail” (a bald witch to deliver an impactful public message).

    While sharing the image on X (Formerly Twitter), the Delhi Police known for sharing public messages in the form of puns and memes, inspired the residents to wear helmets. The post reads, “Sabko helmet pehnate hai Delhi Police Wale,” which means, Delhi Police makes everyone wear helmets.

    Further, the caption of the post stated, “Ganji Chudail: Mujhse Nahi, Chot se daro! Helmet Pehno!”. This means to “Bald Witch: not me, be afraid of getting hurt! Wear a helmet!”

    Meanwhile, the same post was also shared on Instagram which received several reactions from the users. While reacting to the post, a user in the comment section mentioned, “Ganji Chudail is not so ganji (Bald) anymore”.

    “Ganji Chudail is the new phrase of Delhi Police,” a comment reads.

    “Meme Police,” another user added.

    Notably, the viral meme called “Ganji Chudail” is an appealing, animated cartoon witch, with a bald skull. This character first time made an appearance on the YouTube channel Majedar Kahani. It is an animated story channel for children that narrates the stories in a very light and humorous way.

    The story of this character evolved from a woman named Hema who had beautiful hair. One day, a couple shifted to her village, and Hema became envious of the wife’s stunning and long hair. In a fit of jealousy, one day Hema’s husband cut off the woman’s hair while she was sleeping, leading to her death and transformation into a revengeful spirit called, Ganji Chudail.

    This character quickly gained popularity due to her quirky and relatable antics. Soon, the character got recognized on various platforms like Netflix, Swiggy, and Nykaa using her as a part of their campaign. The meme has also been used in the promotions of movies like Stree 2.
