India defeated Bangladesh in the second T20I match by 86 runs at Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium on 9 October, clinching the series by 2-0. Chasing a target of 221 runs as set by the Indian Cricketers, Bangladesh could score only 135/9.
Mahmudullah (41) scored the highest runs for Bangladesh. Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Parvez Hossain Emon scored 16 runs each.
India’s Varun Chakravarthy and Nitish Reddy picked two wickets, while Arshdeep Singh, Washington Sundar, Abhishek Sharma, Mayank Yadav, and Riyan Parag one wicket each.
This is another T20I series win for India at home. In all, it is a 16-win in a row now. Indian Cricketers have not lost even one since 2019. The third T20I match will be played in Hyderabad on October 12.
After losing the toss and being asked to bat first, India dominated Bangladeshi bowlers in the second T20I match. India scored 221/9 in 20 overs and gave a target of 222 runs for Bangladesh to chase.
For India, Nitish Kumar Reddy (74) and Rinku Singh (53) scored their half-centuries with their smashing innings. Hardik Pandya, too, contributed 32 important runs. Apart from this, other Indian batters could not score more than 15 runs.
For Bangladesh, Rishad Hossain took three wickets, and Taskin Ahmed, Mustafizur Rahman, and Tanzim Hasan Sakib each took two wickets.
Defeating the Najmul Hossain Shanto-led Bangladesh by 7 wickets in the first T20I at Gwalior on 6 October, Indians have already sealed the three-match series.
In the first T20I match, India had decided to hand debut caps to Mayank Yadav and Nitish Kumar Reddy in Gwalior. Now, both the debutants are expected to get still another chance, with Suryakumar (C) and head coach Gautam Gambhir.
Mayank made an impressive start to his international career with a maiden over and also claimed a wicket. Reddy played a knock of 16 runs and also bowled a couple of overs. Meanwhile, Varun Chakaravarthy claimed three wickets in his comeback after almost three years.
