AAP Sarpanch Sukhjit Singh, Fighting Drug Mafia, Killed in a Brutal Attack in Barnala

In a tragic turn of events, an Aam Aadmi Party Sarpanch from Chhna Gulab Singh Wala, near the village Bhador in the Barnala district, has been murdered in the broad daylight. The deceased has been identified as Sukhjit Singh, aged 26.
According to the reports, he has been brutally killed by a group of around 50-60 individuals, who apparently launched a deadly attack on Sarpanch Sukhjit Singh and two others. One of them was his father, Amarjit Singh. They have been attacked by using sharp weapons, leaving the two severely injured.
Following the incident, they have been taken to the hospital. Sukhjit Singh succumbed to his injuries while being transported. The other two victims are currently in critical condition. They sustained multiple injuries and are being treated at the hospital.
While more details from the matter are awaited. In a preliminary investigation by police, it has been highlighted that Singh has been actively fighting the drug menace in the region, which sparked rivalry with some villagers, leading them to kill him.
The villagers said that this evening, when the sarpanch urged some people of the village to stop white drugging. After some time, the drug smugglers, along with many of their associates, came to Sarpanchs house, carrying sharp weapons, and began attacking them. Sukhjit Singh sustained severe injuries. He was rushed to the nearby government hospital but, tragically, couldnt survive and died on the way. His father, Amarjit Singh, was also critically injured.
His family members and some nearby locals have reported serious allegations against certain individuals from the village. They have been claiming that the attack was directed and fueled amid the long-standing enmity following his nomination after the Sarpanch elections.
According to them, the man who has been suspected in Singhs murder is a man who lost Sarpanch elections. Meanwhile, the police have been closely investigating the matter and have immediately carried out strict actions against those involved in the case.
Labh Singh Ugoke, an MLA from Bhadur, visited the spot and extended his grief with Singhs family. He has also ordered the police administration to take strict actions in the case.
