Interns can work for 12 months in diverse professions, significantly enhancing their job prospects. Participants will receive an internship allowance of IN ₹5,000 per month, along with a one-time assistance amount of IN ₹6,000 to help cover their expenses.
The scheme is structured into two phases:
- Phase 1: It will run for two years, followed by a three-year phase
- Phase 2: Companies involved will be responsible for covering the training expenses and contribute 10 percent of the internship costs through their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds.

To be eligible for the internship scheme, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Age: Applicants must be aged between 21 and 24 years old.
- Employment Status: The scheme is aimed at individuals who are currently unemployed and not enrolled in full-time education.
Companies providing internships will select candidates based on objective criteria, prioritizing those with lower employability. It’s important to note that participation from companies is voluntary.
Who is Not Eligible for the Internship Scheme?
Certain candidates are not allowed to apply for the internships. According to the government’s indicative list:

Youth can pursue internships in more than 20 areas, such as operation management, production and construction, maintenance, and sales and marketing.
