Samsung is taking device security to the next level by offering a $1 million reward to anyone who can remotely hack its ultra-secure Knox Vault, a main feature in its Galaxy S and Z smartphones. This initiative is part of Samsung’s ongoing efforts to test and strengthen device security. It also encourages ethical hackers to find any weak spots.

The program had given out around $5 million to researchers who discovered security flaws. In 2023, it awarded $827,925 to 113 researchers, with the highest single payout being $57,190.
