The agreement was signed during a ceremony attended by Dr. Rajkumar Upadhyay, CEO C-DOT, Mr. Jithesh T. (CEO) and Nandakumar T.E. (CIO) from Trois Infotech along with Dr. Pankaj Dalela, Ms. Shikha Srivastava, Directors of C-DOT and senior officials from DOT, Dr. Parag Agarwal, DDG(TTDF) and Shri. Vinod Kumar. DDG (SRI).

Dr. RajKumar Upadhyay, CEO, C-DOT underscored the key role of indigenously designed & developed technologies in meeting the specific requirements by our diverse country, reaffirming the commitment towards “Atmanirbhar Bharat”.

At the event, Mr. Jithesh T. and Mr. Nandakumar stressed upon advancing the innovative “Face Recognition Using Drone” technology. They expressed their gratitude to the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) and the Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DOT) for this collaborative opportunity. Reiterating the same, C-DOT representatives expressed their enthusiasm and commitment to this collaborative endeavor in developing the “Face Recognition Using Drone” technology.

Drone for Face Recognition: FA6 (Face Six) Drones run in real time and can also process recorded videos. The ability to identify people from the air automatically provides a unique value which cannot be achieved otherwise. FA6 Drones allow to collect personal information and find the target in the crowd.

Technology used in Face Recognition: Facial recognition software relies on machine learning technology, which requires massive data sets to “learn” to deliver accurate results. Such large data sets require robust data storage.

Facial Recognition: Facial recognition is a way of identifying or confirming an individual’s identity using the face. Facial recognition systems can be used to identify people in photos, videos, or in real-time.

Facial recognition is a category of biometric security. Other forms of biometric software include voice recognition, fingerprint recognition, and eye retina or iris recognition. The technology is mostly used for security and law enforcement, though there is increasing interest in other areas of use.

The technology is used for a variety of purposes. These include: Unlocking phones; Law enforcement; Airports and border control; Finding missing persons; Reducing retail crime; Improving retail experiences; Banking; Marketing and advertising; Healthcare; Tracking student or worker attendance; Recognizing drivers; Monitoring gambling addictions; and, more.
