    The Iconic Pandals in Honor of the Lord of Wisdom, the Beloved Ganesha

    Ganesh Chaturthi is a rich Hindu festival, which is dedicated to the birthday of Lord Ganesha, people arrange processions, lovely ornaments and many more. Given that it usually lasts for ten days, the festival in a way transforms cities into hive centers of celebration and worship. A few are known for their number, size, magnificence and historical importance among the numerous pandals that exist in India. Here are a few of the most recognizable Ganesh Chaturthi pandals:  

    Lalbaugcha Raja, Mumbai  

    It is one of the most famous and popular Ganesh pandals of India. This is one of the oldest pandals set up for over 80 years. It is famous for the beautifully adorned idol of Lord Ganesha to which millions of devotees pay a visit every year. When people from various cross sections of society are crowding at Lalbaugcha Raja to seek the blessings of the god, the spirit of the area is devoted. The idol is very large and the pandal is very beautifully decorated, adding to the star appeal of Mumbai ‘s Ganesh Chaturthi festival.

    Dagadusheth Halwai, Pune 

    Among the important and essential significances, arts and culture, friendship, and unity of Gaatha, Pune’s Dagadusheth  Halwai Ganapati pandal represents. Dagadusheth Halwai and his wife set up this pandal in the late 1800’s. The organization has grown into one of the largest Ganesh mandals in Pune. Idol is very famous for its work and gold jewelry. The founders of the Dagadusheth were very public-spirited in their actions. They evidence their involvement through various philanthropic activities and work for various social causes.

    Khairtabad Ganesh Pandal, Hyderabad 

    The Khairtabad Ganesha pandal of Hyderabad is famous for its colossal form where in the idol known to be one of the largest in entire India. This Ganesh pandal was constructed in mid twentieth century. It is acclaimed for its dimensions and splendor. Annually, the pandal is refurbished with a new theme for the idol and the entire structure. Due to its size, popularity, and media attention, the Khairtabad Ganesh pandal is one of the most eye-catching parts of the entire celebration.

    Mumbaicha Raja, Mumbai 

    The ‘Mumbaicha Raja’ or the ‘Mumbai King Ganesh’ is an another pandal in Mumbai. This pandal has got a reputation for coming up with unique themes and giving a great look to its Ganesh statue. The organizing committee always bring unique concepts each year to introduce the several aspects of Indian culture, mythology, and relativity. Mumbaicha Raja is famous for having bright and elaborate artistic designs that draw the attention of visitors.

    Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav, Goa 

    The public is welcome to visit the Pandal of Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav in Panjim, Goa, which is well-known for its architecture. The exhibition of Goa customs and traditions during the Ganesh Chaturthi festival has made this pandal particularly well-known. In Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav’s pandal, you can find numerous Goa-style buildings and exquisitely carved statues. This is a major festival for the people of Goa and the tourists, which have religious rituals and cultural troupes.
