Dead Body of 23-Year-Old Woman Wrapped in Polythene Sheet Found in Rajpura

A horrific murder case has been unearthed after the body of a 23-year-old woman, Mitali, was found wrapped in a plastic sheet near Rajpura. Mitali was a Badal Colony resident of Zirakpur and had gone missing for a day when her body was found. A registered case has been filed against four accusedMohammad Sultan, Raj, Amandeep, and Rohit Kumaragainst the case.

The corpse had clear signs of injuries, showing that Mitali was attacked before being killed. Sohan Lal, the father of Mitali, has filed a complaint against Mohammad Sultan for kidnapping his daughter and conspiring to kill her. The family alleged that after killing Mitali, the accused tried to dispose of the body and erase all evidence.

According to Victims Fathers Complaint

Sohan Lal’s complaint also adds a ghastly twist to the casethe police inaction when Mitali initially went missing. As per his version, the complaint was made to Investigating Officer Ashok Kumar the very next day after Mitali went missing. But the police did nothing and ignored his complaint.

Sohan Lal alleged that whenever he asked for police assistance, the police never took the issue seriously. He recalled Officer Ashok Kumar stating, “Mitali has only left the home, not died yet.” The family feels that had the police acted in time, the life of Mitali could have been saved.

Police Finally Register a Murder Case

After the body of Mitali was found and pressure from her family, the police finally acted. Mohali SP Manpreet Singh has confirmed that a case of murder has been registered against the four accused by name. He assured that the police are actively investigating the case and arrests will be made soon.

“The case of murder has been lodged against the four accused. We are probing the case and will soon arrest them,” SP Manpreet Singh stated.

Brutal Murder Raises Questions About Women’s Safety

The gruesome killing of Mitali has generated a shockwave in the area, and the security of women became the most important issue of the area. Women and men living in Badal Colony and surrounding areas have termed the crime ghastly and held police insensitivity responsible. The people are of the view that indecision on the part of the law enforcers led to the tragedy.

The event has also been resolutely criticized by women activists as well as national activists, who have asked for tough action to be taken against the accused as well as action against policemen who had previously not consented to register the complaint.

Investigation and Legal Process Ongoing

The police are now accelerating their investigation to learn the precise circumstances under which Mitali was murdered. Forensic experts are examining the crime site, and the police are gathering evidence to make the case against the accused stronger.

The government ensured that the perpetrators would be detained in no time and undergo vigorous legal proceedings. The family of Mitali in the meanwhile is calling for justice for Mitali hoping the individuals that brutally killed Mitali face maximum punishment through the law.

This case, once again, emphasizes the role of increased law enforcement action in missing persons cases and increased security for women. The next few days will show if justice is delivered to Mitali and institutional reforms are carried out so that this kind of incident does not happen in the future.

Lack of National Media Coverage Sparks Outrage

Despite the gruesome nature of the crime, Mitalis murder has received no national media attention. The absence of widespread coverage has raised concerns over selective reporting by major news outlets. While similar cases in metropolitan cities often receive extensive media coverage and public outcry, this case remains largely ignored by mainstream national channels.

Social media users and local activists have pointed out the bias in media reporting, questioning why some crimes make headlines while others are sidelined. Mitalis family, already struggling with their loss, now faces the additional burden of fighting for attention to ensure justice is served.
