    Baba Siddique Murdered, Shaking Maharashtra and the Bollywood

    Baba Siddique was a key political figure in Maharashtra. He has served as the Minister of State for food and civil supplies, Labour, and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). He was renowned for his Glamorous persona, hosting Iftar parties and sharing close relations with many Bollywood celebs and television stars.

    On Saturday night, October 12, 2024, Baba Siddique was shot dead by three unidentified men in Bandra, East Mumbai. The news has not only shaken the film industry but entire Maharashtra.

    Following the incident, the former state Minister and Nationalist Congress party senior politician was taken to the Lilavati Hospital. But he was pronounced death. His body was then sent to Cooper Hospital for a post-mortem. The Maharashtra Police have been investigating the case closely. They have been collecting all the shreds of evidence in connection to the incident.

    Two suspects have been already arrested in the case.

    On Sunday, October 13, 2024, Baba Siddique’s children, Zeeshan and Arshia performed his last rites at Bada Khabaristan. Many Bollywood and Television celebrities were also present to pay final rites to him. Salman Khan, Shilpa Shetty, and Sanjay Dutt were seen visiting Lilavati Hospital on Saturday night. Many celebrities including Jay Bhanushali, Shiv Thakare, Arti Singh, Daisy Shah, Rashmi Desai, Shehnaaz Gill, and many others reached out for Antim Darshan.

    Television stars including Mahi Vij, Arjun Bijlani, Aly Goni, Yuvika Choudhary, and other political leaders also took to their social media to pay tribute to the late minister and politician.

    Actor Salman Khan and Shahrukh Khan who reportedly had close relations with Baba Siddique were seen deeply moved by the incident.

    About Baba Siddique

    Baba Siddique, whose full name was Baba Ziauddin Siddique was a prominent Indian politician. He had served as the Member of Legislative Assembly for Bandra West Constituency in Maharashtra three times consecutively from 1999 to 2014. He also served as the Minister for State for Food and Civil Supplies and Labour under Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh between 2004 and 2008. His Political Journey began in the Indian National Congress where he was active from his teenage years until 2024.

    Recently, Baba Siddique switched from the Indian National Congress (INC) to the Nationalist Congress Party in February 2024. This move came after a long association with the Congress party for 48 years. His shift to the party was marked by his close ties with Ajit Pawar, who is a prominent leader within NCP.

    Baba Siddique’s relations with Bollywood

    Baba Siddique was a political acumen. He played a significant role in bridging gaps within Bollywood. He often hosted lavish Iftar parties and that brought together many of the industry’s stars.

    A day after the murder of Baba Siddique on Saturday night near his MLA son’s office Zeeshan Siddique, a member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang on Sunday took the responsibility for killing him. He issued a threat warning, stating that anyone who assisted actor Salman Khan would be next targeted.

    Meanwhile, the Police are taking these threats seriously. They have increased the security for Salman Khan, who was the closest friend of Baba Siddique.
