    It was based on the life of Captain Vikram Batra, the national hero of the 1999 Kargil War, who gave his life to defend India by retaking territory from Pakistani invaders.

    It is a historical biopic that tells the story of an Indian freedom fighter and stars Vicky Kaushal in the lead role.

    The plot, which shifts between the past and the present, depicts Indian revolutionary Udham Singh preparing to assassinate Michael O’Dwyer, who gave the order to kill more than 20,000 peaceful protestors at Jallianwala Bagh.
