The highly anticipated trailer for ‘Amar Singh Chamkila’, starring Diljit Dosanjh and Parineeti Chopra, has been released on Netflix’s YouTube channel, and it is impressive from the beginning to the end. With beautifully captivating music by AR Rahman and powerful direction by Imtiaz Ali, it introduced Late Punjabi singer Amar Singh Chamkila with the title of ‘Elvis of Punjab’. The trailer surpasses expectations, delivering a flawless presentation.

The movie trailer beautifully captures the journey from a sock factory worker with a love for music since childhood to a confident performer on stage with a mic and audience.

With AR Rahaman’s music magic and Irsad Kamil’s lyrics raising the bar with each note, the trailer reaches its peak, reflecting their iconic partnership known for albums like Rockstar, Highway, and Tamasha. The music shines brightly, mirroring the main character, who is also a singer.

The trailer manages to create tension by not only depicting the tragic and brutal end of Late Punjabi singer Amar Singh Chamkila at the very young age of 27. In the trailer, Imtiaz Ali’s poetic vision is evident as we see men with guns approaching Chamkila, who says a beautiful poetic line emphasizing “Yeh Bandook Wale Hain Inka Toh Kaam Hai Goli Chalana Aur Yeh Chalay Ge, Hum Ganne Bajana Wala Hain Hamara Kaam Hain Geet Gaana Aur Hum Gaye Ge”, translated in English as “They are shooters. Their job is to shoot. So, they will shoot. We are singers. Our job is to sing. So, we will sing”.

However, the absence of dialogue for Parineeti Chopra and only having a short screen time as shown in the trailer raises questions about her role, and regarding these statements, the crew states that she will be having multiple songs in the film.

Nevertheless, the trailer has left viewers eager to dive in and explore the world of ‘Amar Singh Chamkila’ when it premieres on Netflix on April 12, 2024. Stay tuned for more updates on this highly anticipated release in the world of streaming and cinema.
