Aamir Khan, Bollywood’s heartthrob, celebrated his 60th birthday on Friday. In a press meet held the day before his birthday, the actor introduced his girlfriend, Gauri Spratt. Aamir shared that he first met Gauri 25 years ago, and reconnected with her through his cousin, Nuzhat Khan. The two started dating over a year ago.
Who is Gauri Spratt?
Gauri Spratt resides in Bengaluru; she is the mother of a 6-years-old son. She is partly Irish and partly Tamil. She is the daughter of Rita Spratt, who owned a salon in Bengaluru. Gauri pursued a fashion course, styling and photography from the University of Arts, London, in 2004. Currently she is managing the B blunt salon in Mumbai.
Aamir and Gauri described themselves as “committed,” and Aamir laughed about successfully keeping their relationship a secret for over a year. “Dekha kuch bhi pata nahi chalne diya maine tum logo ko (See, I did not let you get a wind of this),” he said.
Aamir explained that they decided to go public with their relationship because they feel secure and committed to each other. He even jokingly commented that if now they went for a coffee, media can join them too.
Gauri had been introduced to Aamir’s family and his friends, including his co-actor Shah Rukh khan and Salman Khan. He shared during the press meet that his family members are very happy for them, and his children get along with Gauri, and are fond of her.
But, when asked about the question of getting married again, Aamir said he feels “settled” with Gauri. “I don’t know… at the age of 60, mujhe shadii shobha deti hai ki nahi (if it appears alright to get married),” he shared.
Aamir has been married twice before. He first married Reena Dutta in 1986 and the two were married until 2002. They share two children – Ira and Junaid. He then married Kiran Rao in 2005; they split up in 2021. They share a son – Azad.
