The famous YouTube show ‘India’s Got Latent,’ hosted by Samay Raina, is currently facing controversy. Guest participants, Ranveer Allahabadia and Apoorva Mukhija, known as ‘The Rebel Kid’ on Instagram, have come under fire for their specific comments about the contestants on the show. Their remarks have drawn significant attention online, resulting in a negative backlash. Widespread outrages are against the Youtuber Ranveer Allahabadia, however, Rebel kid has also caught into the flames because of her commentaries on the show contestants that included swear words.
The Rebel Kid
Rebel Kid, also known as Aporva, is an Instagram personality celebrated for her witty remarks and engaging storytelling. She gained popularity during the COVID-19 pandemic by creating funny and relatable content on the platform. Since then, she has expanded her career by starring in TV commercials and collaborating with brands such as Nike, Kate Spade, Amazon, Meta, Maybelline, and Swiggy.
At just 24 years old, she has built a significant fanbase, with 2.7 million followers on Instagram and 526,000 subscribers on YouTube, where she shares her storytelling videos. Forbes has recognized her as one of the Top 100 Digital Stars in 2024. She posted on Instagram about her achievement, dedicating the message to her mom, “Look maa I am on Forbes India again. This is my second year of being on this list and a lot has changed in the past one year, in fact my most difficult year professionally was the last one year.”
In addition to her work as a social media creator, she also has experience as a web developer, engineering analyst, and marketing intern. The online star is originally from Delhi. She has a degree of BTech in Computer Engineering from Manipal University, Jaipur, and later Mukhija shifted to her city of dreams, Mumbai.
The latent controversy
The tension began when the contestant commented on the show, saying, “Vagina mein sensation khatam ho gaya hai” (Is there no sensation in your vagina?). In response, Mukhija fired back, “Kabhi vagina dekhi hai maa se nikalne ke baad?” (Have you ever seen a vagina after coming out of your mother’s body?). This exchange of interaction led to the controversy online against the Rebel Kid, as some of the viewers found it offensive.
Other Controversies Surrounding Mukhija
Recently, Mukhija attended under 25 summit at Delhi Technological University (DTU) where the audience began shouting her ex’s name to tease her. In response to the hecklers, Mukhija stated, “100 baar aur todungi aur tu idhar aaja, teri haddiyan bhi todungi. Tu idhar udhar bhaag raha tha na chup chupke. Aaja.” This statement quickly spread across the internet, leading some viewers to troll the Rebel Kid.
