The Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM) wrapped up with a stunning awards ceremony, honoring the best talents and films from Indian cinema. The film festival is taking place from August 15^th to 25^th and is a grand celebration of the diversity and richness of Indian films.

Among the notable highlights of the film festival was Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s 12^th Fail. 12^th Fail received the Best Film Award for its outstanding contributions to Indian cinema. The film garnered praise for its inspiring narrative. 

The Inspiring Story Behind “12th Fail” 

The movie 12^th Fail tells the inspiring story of Manoj Kumar Sharma, portrayed by Vikrant Massey. Manoj who overcomes many obstacles to achieve his dreams.

The film chronicles the journey of an IPS officer who, after failing his 12^th grade exams, works odd jobs. He manages to get just three hours of sleep each night and attempts the UPSC exams several times. 

Plot summary  

The narrative follows Manoj, a young man from a village in Chambal, Madhya Pradesh, who faces difficulties in his education. After failing his board exams because of tough new rules against cheating, he eventually passes the exam next year.

However, he encounters many obstacles when he relocates to Delhi to study for the Civil Services examination. 

Despite his initial lack of knowledge about UPSC and IPS, Manoj’s strong will and hard work are central to the story. With the support of his mentor, friends and girlfriend Shraddha Joshi played by Medha Shankar, he tackles menial jobs and many challenges while striving to fulfill his ambitions.
