    ‘It’s Entertainment is a Bollywood comedy movie directed by Sajid-Farhad, starring Akshay Kumar as Akhil Lokhande. The plot centers on Akhil discovering that his late billionaire father has left his entire wealth to a pet dog named Entertainment.  

    With the help of his friend Jugnu (Krishna Abhishek), Akhil attempts different plans to claim the inheritance, leading to a series of humorous and chaotic events. The film blends comedy, drama and heartfelt moments, showcasing the growing bond between Akhil and Entertainment. 

    Teri Meherbaniyan (1985)

    Teri Meherbaniyan is an action drama directed by Vijay Reddy. It stars Jackie Shroff as Ram, an honest and good man who fights against a corrupt politician named Thakur Vijay Singh played by Amrish Puri.  

    After Ram is murdered by Thakur, his loyal dog Moti witnesses the crime and seeks revenge. The film is known for its emotional storyline and shows the deep bond between Ram and Moti.

    Chillar Party (2011)

    Chillar Party, directed by Vikas Bahl and Nitish Tiwai is a family comedy about a group of children in a Mumbai colony. The group of children became friends with a street dog named Bhidu.  

    When a corrupt politician threatens to euthanize stray dogs, the children unite to rescue Bhidu. The film showcases their determination, unity, and teamwork as they fight against injustice.

    Lady and the Tramp (1955)

    Produced by Walt Disney, Lady and the Tramp is an animated musical love story about Lady, a pampered Cocker Spaniel and Tramp, a street-smart stray dog. Even though they come from different backgrounds, Lady and the Tramp go on an exciting adventure together.  

    One of the film’s most iconic scenes is their romantic spaghetti dinner at Tony’s restaurant. The movie beautifully explores the themes of love, loyalty and the importance of home.

    The Secret Life of Pets (2016)

    The Secret Life of Pets is an animated comedy that focuses on Max, a Jack Russell Terrier, whose life changes when his owner Katie brings home a large wild dog named Duke.  

    At first, Max and Duke clash, but they must team up after they lose their way in New York City. They encounter a group of stray pets led by a rebellious rabbit named Snowball. The film features Max’s friends, including a Pomeranian named Gidget who set out to rescue him. 

    101 Dalmatians (1961)

    Another Disney classic, 101 Dalmatians is an animated adventure comedy. It tells the story of Pongo and Perdita, two Dalmatians who live happily with their owners, Roger and Anita.  

    The villainous fashion designer Cruella De Vil disrupts their peaceful life by kidnapping their 15 puppies to make a fur coat. Pongo and Perdita go on a daring mission to rescue their puppies and the other 84 Dalmatians puppies, making a total of 101. 

    Tollywood Classic Unforgettable Movies Starring Dogs 

    Tommy (2015)

    Tommy is a Telugu drama directed by Raja Vannem Reddy. The film draws inspired from the real-life story of Hachiko. The film stars Rajendra Prasada as Viswam Master, a professor who adopts a stray dog named Tommy.  

    The bond between Visham and Tommy grows strong as Tommy follows Visham to the train station daily. After Visham’s death, Tommy continues to wait for him at the station for years. It shows his unwavering loyalty and emphasizes themes of love and devotion. 

    Oh, My Dog (2022)

    Oh, My Dog, directed by Serov Shanmugam is a Tamil children’s comedy drama featuring Arun Vijay and his son Arnav Vijay in his debut role. The plot centers on a boy named Arjun who rescues a blind Siberian Husky puppy named Simba. 

    Arjun trains Simba for a competition with the help of his father and grandfather. The film portrays the strong bond between the boy and his dog, emphasizing love, family and determination. 

    Valatty: Tale of Tails (2023)

    Valatty: Tale of Tails is a Malayalam adventure-comedy romance directed by Devan Jayakumar. The movie features the voices of Roshan Mathew, Raveena Ravi and Soubin Shahir.  

    The plot centers on two dogs, Tomy and Amalu who fell in love despite their owner’s disapproval due to religious differences. Determined to be together, the dogs run away, starting an adventurous journey filled with challenges and new friends.

    777 Charlie (2022)

    At first hesitant, Dharma forms a deep bond with Charlie, who brings joy and purpose to his life. The film explores themes of companionship, transformation and the healing power of love. The film has received praise and love for its emotional impact and ranks among the top-grossing Kannada films of its time. 

    John Wick: Chapter 1(2014)

    Directed by Chad Stahelski, John Wick played by Keanu Reeves is a former Hitman mourning his wife, Helen. Before she passed away, she gave him a puppy named Daisy to help him through his grief.  

    But everything changed when a gang of Russian criminals led by Losef Tarasov invade his home, takes his car and kills his Daisy. The violent act drags John back into criminal world he tried to escape. Driven by revenge, John sets out on a fierce mission to find Losef and his father, Viggo Tarasov, a powerful crime lord.
