    Stree 2: Sarkate Ka Aatank, the Bollywood horror comedy, the sequel to the Stree movie, despite facing controversies about allegedly copying from the poster of Stranger Things, faces competition from multiple films released on the same day, yet the movie has achieved an impressive collection at the box office. 

    Crew and fans expect Stree 2 to maintain performing strongly over the extended weekend. It has become the latest film to enter the club. It has secured the position of being the fourth biggest opener at the box office in India with an opening of ₹55.40. 

    Here is the list of the top five highest box office movies opening at the domestic box office in Bollywood.

    Jawan

    Atlee Kumar directed the 2023 Indian action thriller ‘Jawan’. The film collected ₹75 crore in India on opening day. It includes ₹65 crore from Hindi screenings and ₹5 crore from Tamil and Telugu versions. 

    Featuring Shah Rukh Khan, Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi, the plot centers on a vigilante seeking revenge who battles corruption and injustice while revealing dark incidents in India.

    Animal

    Animal is a 2024 Bollywood action drama directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga and starring Ranbir Kapoor. Animal has collected ₹ 63.8 crores in India on its opening day.   

    The film explores the complex journey of a man entangled in a world of crime and violence. It balances his dark past with a quest for redemption.

    Pathaan

    Pathaan is a 2023 Bollywood action thriller movie directed by Siddharth Anand, starring Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and John Abraham. Pathaan had an impressive opening-day collection of approximately ₹57 crore at the box office. 

    The film follows the story of a former Indian spy who must come out of retirement to thwart a global threat.

    Stree 2 is a 2024 Bollywood horror comedy film and the sequel to the 2018 hit Stree film. Directed by Amar Kaushik and starring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao, the film continues the blend of supernatural thrills and humor as the characters confront a new ghostly presence of ‘Sarkate’ in their town.

    On its opening day, War achieved a remarkable box office collection of approximately ₹53.35 crores on its first day.
