The families of Sydney have accused the elder brother of Gippy Grewal and Punjabi-Film Producer Sippy Grewal, of abandoning construction projects and leaving them with incomplete homes. Sippy Grewal runs the Alaxia Group and is allegedly accused of not completing his promise.
The families also claimed that he did not fulfill his commitments and is enjoying a lavish lifestyle whereas they are stranded with unconstructed houses.
Allegations Against Sippy Grewal
One frustrated homeowner Mahesh, from Riverstone in northwest Sydney claimed that he signed a construction contract with Alaxia Group in 2021. According to the agreement, the project was expected to be completed within six months. Three years later, the home remains unfinished, despite the client having already paid a substantial portion of the contract’s value.
Statements from Mahesh quoted, “When I signed the contract, I was promised that within six months, my family and I would be moving into our new home. The total contract value was $402,000, and I’ve already paid him $300,000. I feel cheated—completely cheated.”
The allegations also claimed that to continue the project, Sippy Grewal demanded additional payments from clients apart from the agreed contract. The result of which has left the families with financial crisis in a state of limbo, managing both rental costs and mortgages on unfinished homes.
On the other side, as homeowners continue to struggle, Grewal has been spotted attending Bollywood premieres and high-profile events alongside his brother, Indian actor and singer Gippy Grewal, further intensifying concerns over his priorities.
Alaxia Group of Sippy Grewal Under Investigation
Grewal’s group is now under investigation by the Building Commission NSW. Authorities have already prompted actions, including suspending or revoking the licenses of several of its subsidiaries. The suspension action come in the effort to improve the quality and integrity of the construction industry.
In the same case, authorities upheld Alaxia Group for failing to meet these standards and ensure the security of the families. Attempts by the media to question Sippy Grewal about the allegations have been met with resistance.
He has avoided reporters, while his wife, who is also involved in the business, has addressed some of the inquiries. The investigation is still underway, with homeowners who have been affected by the situation seeking justice and a resolution as they deal with the impact of Grewal’s alleged actions.
This case highlights the increasing call for stronger regulation and reforms in the construction industry to better protect vulnerable consumers from unscrupulous practices.
