    Grave Security Breach: Videos of Women undergoing Gynecological Check-ups Put Online

    Technological advancements and the invention of cameras have made lives easier and are allowing us to create memorable moments in our lives. But what would be the consequence If it was used in the wrong ways curbing one’s privacy? It would lead to violating privacy rules and the distribution of inappropriate content online. One such incident has recently happened in a gynac hospital at Rajkot, Ahmedabad.

    CCTV footages of women undergoing Gynecological checkups and medical treatments were circulated online from a private hospital in Rajkot, prompting the police to take immediate action. The leaked online videos were found on YouTube and Telegram channels. 

    The Ahmedabad cybercrime branch launched a probe into this investigation and traced the CCTV footage that came from a private hospital outpatient room at Rajkot.

    A YouTube Channel for Uploading Videos

    A YouTube channel named” Megha MBBS” was started and videos of the women undergoing treatment were uploaded to the channel with telegram links in the comments sections to access additional content. Several subscription offers were also made available to view such explicit content in that channel.

    Over the past month, these videos have gained about 5 lakh views online. This hospital that has been uploading such videos is located in a commercial complex near Raiya Crossroads in Rajkot and has come under scrutiny after these activities came to light.

    Deputy Commissioner Reveals More Details

    Rajkot’s deputy commissioner of Crime (DCP), Dr Parthrajsinh Gohil confirmed that a team has been sent to the hospital to gather more information regarding this. The cybercrime branch found that the videos were first shared on the telegram on September 2024 and later they started uploading these videos on YouTube from January 6th, 2025. One really disturbing clip was of a woman taking an injection.

    The Assistant Commissioner of Police, Ahmedabad Cybercrime, Hardik Makadia revealed that sharing and uploading such videos is a grave violation of privacy. A case has been registered under sections 66E and 67 of the Information Technology Act, addressing privacy violations and the publication of obscene material online.

    Police further stated that they are working to identify and catch those who are involved in this breach as soon as possible. Efforts are also being taken to remove these videos from the online platforms.

    Health Minister’s Statements Regarding the Issue

    The state’s health minister Rushikesh Patel said that he came to know about the incident through media reports and stated that a case has been registered by the Ahmedabad cybercrime branch. further added that necessary actions will be taken after the conclusion of the investigations.

    He also stated that we can’t come to any particular conclusion and technical aspects should also be considered. that they have to check if the hospital’s CCTV camera systems were hacked The hospital’s statements will be recorded and conclusions will be made after a thorough investigation into the matter,

    He added that government hospitals will not install CCTV cameras for the privacy of the patients coming for the treatment and private hospitals have also been instructed to follow these guidelines to maintain the privacy of the patients in the past.
