Jeffrey Epstein’s Infamous ‘Little Black Book’ Officially Released by U.S. Department of Justice

The United States Department of Justice (DOJ) officially released the much-awaitedtrove of documentsrelated to convicted pedophile sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. The documents released in phase one consisted of Epsteins contact list, flight log, and a list of evidence collected by the government. While the documents confirmed previous suspicions of Epsteins high-level connections in the entertainment and business industry, it failed to provide any new major revelations.
Attorney General Pam Bondi and FBI Director Kash Patel emphasized that this release is part of a broader effort to increase transparency regarding Epsteins crimes. This Department of Justice is following through on President Trumps commitment to transparency and lifting the veil on the disgusting actions of Jeffrey Epstein and his co-conspirators, said Bondi. The first phase of files released today sheds light on Epsteins extensive network and begins to provide the public with long overdue accountability.
Patel, in a statement, said, The FBI is entering a new eraone that will be defined by integrity, accountability, and the unwavering pursuit of justice There will be no cover-ups, no missing documents, and no stone left unturned and anyone from the prior or current Bureau who undermines this will be swiftly pursued. If there are gaps, we will find them. If records have been hidden, we will uncover them. And we will bring everything we find to the DOJ to be fully assessed and transparently disseminated to the American people as it should be.
The documents total around 200 pages and include Epsteins vast Contact List, also known as the black book. Among the notable figures in the list include rock band Rolling Stones frontman, Mick Jagger, renowned pop-icon Michael Jackson, actor Alec Baldwin, former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, supermodel Naomi Campbell, and musician Courtney Love. Also included were Bob Weinstein (brother of another convicted pedophile, Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein), businessman David Koch, late senator Ted Kennedy, and lawyer Alan Dershowitz.
The list also contains several people from the Trump family, including President Donald Trumps brother Robert Trump and his wife Blaine Trump, his first wife Ivana Trump and his daughter Ivanka Trump. The President himself is also in the contact list.
The documents also included flight logs from Epsteins infamous private jet, the Lolita Express. These logs had been previously leaked, but are now official released for public viewing by the Department of Justice. Notably, the flight logs contain the signature of Epsteins former pilot, David Rodgers, who had previously testified in court about his experiences flying Epstein and his associates.
The DOJ also released a redacted list of masseuses who were identified as victims of Epsteins trafficking operation. A total of 254 names appear on this list, but all were blacked out to protect their identities. Additionally, one section of the released documents remains entirely redacted, containing names of Epsteins victims.
Despite the substatinal volume of document released, Bondi noted that the DOJ has only received around 200 pages so far, even though thousands of pages are believed to exist. She has formally requested the FBI to turn over the remaining files by 8:00 AM on 28 February. The release being named phase one implies that further disclosures may be forthcoming.
Epsteins infamous little black book first publicly surfaced during a 2009 court case and was leaked by the now-defunct website Gawker in 2015. That edition of the book, dated 2004-2005, contained 349 names, including figures such as former New York City Mauor, Michael Bloomberg, Prince Andrew, singer Jimmy Buffett, industrialist David Koch, and former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger.
Later, another version of the black book from the 1990s surfaced, containing 221 names not included in the 2015 version. Among those names were President Trump, billionaire investor Carl Icahn, ex-Playboy CEO Christie Hefner, and former New Republic publisher Marty Peretz. This book was first auctioned of e-marketing stie eBay for $425 by a woman who found it in East Village, New York. The buyer of the book from that auction is reportedly planning to put it up for auction again in March.
Epstein was first convicted after he pled guilty to several federal child prostitution crimes in 2008. The relatively lenient sentence was the result of a wildly criticised hush sweetheart plea deal, which saw him only serve 13 months in jail on a cushy work-release program. He was later arrested again in 2019 by prosecutors on charges based on sex-trafficking of minors. However, he reportedly hung himself in the Manhattan lockup where he was detained while he was awaiting trial. His girlfriend and alleged right-hand woman was later convicted in the same sex-trafficking case and is currently serving a 20 year jail sentence.
