    Intermittent Fasting: R Madhavan’s Impressive 21-days Transformation Secret

    Popular Indian Bollywood Actor and Filmmaker R Madhavan has been recently marking major fitness goals. 

    The actor recently revealed his diet and fitness strategies using X (Former Twitter). He shared a tweet, featuring an interview clip where he discussed his remarkable 21-days transformation through Intermittent fasting and opting for a meticulous diet to lose those extra kilos. 

    Intermittent fasting is an eating pattern that alternates between two periods of fasting and eating. Basically, it’s not a proper traditional diet but a schedule for when one can eat. This is the most popular health and fitness technique which is in vogue these days.

    However, this Intermittent fasting played a pivotal role in R Madhavan’s weight loss journey. The star of ‘Rocketry— (a 2022 based-Indian Biographical film based on the story of Nambi Narayanan, a scientist at ISRO), R Madhavan in a reply to a user on X mentioned about his last meal at 6:45 PM and no food intake until the next day. He also shared that his meal includes cooked food and nothing raw at all.  

    Further, the actor’s post on X also highlighted the importance of staying hydrated throughout the day. He mentioned that he consumed plenty of fluids, (particularly water and green vegetable juices) which are significant for maintaining hydration and supporting metabolic processes. He also avoided processed foods and made sure to chew his food (45-60 seconds per bite).  

    Besides this, taking proper sleep was another critical component R Madhavan followed in his weight loss journey. He made sure to go to bed early and deep sleep every night and followed early morning long walks. He also stressed avoiding screen times at least 3 hours before bed.

    Generally, the Intermittent fasting involves some common methods like, the 16/8 method, East-stop-eat, and the 5:2 diet. During this period, generally there is no consumption of calories, and intake of more fluids like water, green tea and black coffee in the diet.

    The idea behind this fasting technique was that by extending the hours your body goes without food, it will start burning fat for energy. This process is also known as metabolic switching.  

    This fasting doesn’t specify which foods to eat rather than when to eat, one can also alter the time period for fasting and food intake as per their convenience. The diet also does not dictate or control one’s eating quality, rather it focuses on the timings of the meals.

    There are several ways to do Intermittent fasting, but they all are based upon choosing the right and regular time periods to eat and fast.     This process is also known as metabolic switching.   Try to eat for 6-8 hours a day and fast for the rest of the hours. Or you can also choose to eat only one or two meals a day. There are different schedules based on your capability and flexibility. 

    If someone eats three meals a day with snacks and is not exercising, it means their calories are not burning and they are running on those calories. This can also lead to weight loss.

    Based on one of Mattson’s studies— published in the New England Journal of Medicine, there are various benefits with this fasting. These include a longer life, leaner body and a sharper mind, etc.

Hence, opting Intermittent fasting with mindful eating proved to be a better aid in weight loss.
