Mahakumbh Mela 2025: Many people from different part of the world have gathered in Prayagraj for the largest spiritual gathering in Maha Kumbh. Many Bollywood actors and renowned persons are attending MahaKumbh this year. Among them were Bollywood actress and BJP MP Hema Malini and Baba Ramdev. The 76-year-old actress took a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam and a video of this goes viral on the internet.

She also met with Acharya Swami Avdeshananda Giriji Maharaj, at the Prabhu Premi Sangh kumbh camp.

While talking to the reporters, Hema Malini said, I feel fortunate to get a chance to do the snan (holy dip) among lakhs of people. Today is a special Day.

Baba Ramdev Also spoke about the injured people during the stampede. He said to media that he prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured.

Why is Mauni Amavasya important?

Wednesday marked ‘Mauni Amavasya,’ or the new moon day, which is highly auspicious for Hindus. This day is even more special this year due to a rare cosmic alignment known as Triveni Yog, which happens once in 144 years.

In Hindu mythology, this day is significant becauseRishabh Dev, one of the earliest sages, broke his long vow of silence and took a dip in the sacred waters.

Stamped at Sangam Area:

Astampede at Maha Kumbh Melaled to injuries and death. The stamped took place in the early hours on Wednesday, because it was Mauni Amavasya on 29th January.

The stampede at the Mahakumbh Mela killed 30 people and left 60 people injured.

Swami Avedhanand giri maharaj expressed his condolence to the people affected by the incident.
