Meerut Stunned by Dastardly Murder of Merchant Navy Officer

Meerut was left stunned by the brutal killing of Merchant Navy officer Saurabh Rajput, whose wife Muskan Rastogi and her alleged lover Sahil Shukla are charged with the crime against him. The killing was revealed when laborers hired to roll a heavy drum from the rented accommodation of the couple noticed a foul odor coming from it. While investigating, Saurabh’s chopped body was discovered inside, which was wrapped in cement.
Saurabh was missing since March 4. His family members were worried about him, but no one was prepared for the harsh reality that would soon surface. The gruesome murder was realized when the workers were unable to shift the drum and raised a question over its abnormal weight. Muskan had apparently informed them that it was “house trash.” But when they attempted to shove it, the lid got stuck and opened accidentally, emitting a strong smell. Assuming something was horribly wrong, the workers contacted the police.
Saurabh’s sobbing mother, Renu Devi, desires the death sentence for Muskan and Sahil. “They brutally murdered my son. They should be punished to the very core,” she said to newspersons. The family was shocked on witnessing the brutal murder and is struggling to come to terms with the cold harsh truth of the case.
Perhaps the most disturbing fact in the case is that it may be possible that the child of Saurabh may have had an idea about what happened. The child told the neighbors that she had said, “Papa has been kept in the drum.” That line is making the family members question if the kid actually saw something bad. “She must have seen something or why would a kid say so?” Renu Devi questioned.
Terrible facts about the killing have been unearthed by the police inquiry. Muskan and Sahil, the police suspect, hatched a conspiracy to kill Saurabh in a knife attack, beheading him later. To conceal the evidence, they put body parts in a drum and poured cement into it.
Additional research shows that the couple’s scheme was bungled after the landlord insisted that they move out of the premises. The move forced them to attempt disposal of the corpse, which, in turn, revealed the murder. The theory of the police is that the accused had arranged to move the drum to some other section of the premises hoping to evade notice.
Muskan and Sahil are now in police custody. Call details, CCTV footages, and other pivotal evidence are also being traced by police during inquiry into the sequence of events leading to the murder.
The town has been left reeling, the people stunned by the cold-bloodedness of the act. Speedy justice has been demanded, society attempting to understand the premature death of Saurabh Rajput. The investigation is ongoing, and the authorities are keen on ensuring the criminals are brought to book.
