The Union Home Minister Amit Shah released the Bhartiya Janta Party’s (BJP) “Vikasit Dilli Sankalp Patra” at Delhi Headquarters on Saturday, January 25, 2024. This is the third and final installment, which emphasizes the party’s roadmap for the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections in 2025.

This manifesto is extensively based upon public opinion and feedback and highlights its vision for a corruption-free, development-focused governance model in the national capital.

While emphasizing the credibility of the manifesto for the upcoming elections, the Union Home Minister Amit Shah stated, “For BJP, a manifesto is a matter of trust, not empty promises,” adding that the document was prepared with the best inputs from 1.08 lakh individuals and 62,000 groups, making it reflective of the people’s ideologies and aspirations.

    Criticism of Kejriwal Government

During the address, Shah slammed the current AAP government for making false promises and misleading voters with a pretend innocence during elections.

“Kejriwal promised no minister would take government bungalows, yet they live in lavish houses, including a luxurious Sheesh Mahal.” He further also added that the people of Delhi are now questioning extravagant expenditures and broken promises, urging them to choose a party that ensures transparency and development.

Shah outlined that the BJP’s Sankalp Patra promises to address the key issues faced by the residents, implicating a road map for a developed and progressive national capital.

Highlights of Shah’s Address on Kejriwal:

Shah accused Kejriwal of not fulfilling his poll promises, such as cleaning the Yamuna, providing clean drinking water, and making Delhi pollution-free. He also accused him of an excise scam for betraying public trust and unfulfilled promises. Shah emphasized that the BJP’s manifesto is a “to-do list” and not just “fake promises.” He assured that the BJP would clean the Yamuna within three years if voted to power.

“Delhiites are still waiting. If Kejriwal cannot take a dip in the Yamuna, he should at least go to the Kumbh and fulfill his promise,” Shah remarked.

He promised that no welfare schemes for the under privileged would be discontinued and highlighted plans to form a welfare board for gig workers, providing them with insurance coverage.

Shah mentioned that the BJP would provide 50,000 jobs to Delhi’s youth and create 20 lakh self-employment opportunities. The manifesto was created based on suggestions from over 1.08 lakh people, including various community groups.

The BJP leader listed a series of alleged scams under the AAP government, including Delhi Jal Board Scam, Ration Distribution Scam, DTC Scam, CCTV Installation Scam, Medical Test Scam. Shah further criticized AAP’s expenditure on advertisements, claiming it drained resources meant for essential services like waste management.

These promises reflect the BJP’s vision for a developed and progressive Delhi, focusing on transparency, development, and public welfare. The BJP aims to create a “Viksit Delhi” (Developed Delhi) by focusing on corruption-free governance and public welfare

    A Vision for Change

Shah emphasized that the BJP’s governance model, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has consistently delivered inclusive and transformative development across India. He also made an appeal to the residents of Delhi to choose BJP for a brighter and corruption-free future.

“AAP finds excuses for inaction, citing demands for full statehood. Did they not know Delhi’s status when they made promises? Making excuses is their habit,” he said, urging voters to reject AAP’s governance model.
