    Haryana Assembly Elections – BJP & Congress release their Election Manifesto

    The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has released its elections manifesto, the “Sankalp Patra”, for the upcoming Haryana Assembly elections.

    The BJP Manifesto was announced by Union Health Minister and national BJP President JP Nadda at an event in Rohtak. Other notable attendees included CM Nayab Singh Saini, Haryana BJP president Mohan Lal Badoli.

    The manifesto makes promises of free healthcare, financial support for women, jobs for the youth, and adequate compensation for every Agniveer from Haryana. Agniveer, or the Agnipath scheme, is a scheme launched by the Indian Armed Forces in 2022 where the candidates are enrolled with a handsome financial package for four years.

    Candidates then have a chance to apply for enrolment in the permanent cadre after completing their engagement period. Up to 25 percent of the Agniveer candidates are selected for the regular cadre.

    BJP’s Manifesto

    BJP’s Sankalp Patra tenets promise the following things:

    1. Purchase of 24 crops at the declared Minimum Support Price (MSP).
    2. Financial assistance of INR 2,100 per month under the Lado Laxmi Yojna.
    3. Construction of 10 industrial cities on the lines of IMT Kharkhoda. Special incentives to entrepreneurs for employing 50,000 local youth per city.
    4. Under the Chirayu-Ayushman Scheme, every family gets free treatment up to INR 10 lakhs and every senior citizen above 70 years of age in the family gets free treatment up to INR 25 lakh separately.
    5. Guaranteed government jobs to 2 lakh youth “without any slip and without any expense”.
    6. Other jobs for 5 lakh youth and monthly stipend from National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme.
    7. Full scholarship to Haryana students of OBC and SC castes studying medicine and engineering from any government college in India.
    8. 5 Lakh houses in Urban and rural areas.
    9. Dialysis in government hospitals and diagnosis in all hospitals is free.
    10. Olympic Games nursery in every district.
    11. Cylinder for INR 500 under Har Ghar Grihani Yojana
    12. Under Awal Balika Yojana, every student going to college in a rural area will be given a scooter trust with heart BJP again.
    13. Government job guaranteed to every Haryanvi Agniveer.
    14. Construction of KMP’s Orbital Rail Corridor and launch of new Vande Bharat trains in collaboration with the Government of India.
    15. Launch of various rapid rail services and Intercity Express Metro service between Faridabad and Gurugram with the cooperation of the Government of India.
    16. Separate welfare boards with adequate budget fro small backward castes.
    17. Increase in all social monthly pensions based on scientific formula linking DA and pensions.
    18. Haryana state government will guarantee loans up to INR 25 lakhs for all OBC category entrepreneurs, in addition to the Mudra Scheme.
    19. Will provide training in modern skills by making Haryana a center for global education.
    20. An international level Aravalli Jungle Safari Park in South Haryana.

    BJP announced their manifesto a day after Congress announced their manifesto under the “Saat Vaade, Pakke Irade” (Seven Promises, Firm Intentions) slogan. In its manifesto, Congress highlighted its commitment to welfare and development. Congress also promised monthly allowance of INR 2,000 to women. Congress also took a page out of AAP’s book, promising 300 units of free electricity to Haryana. The ‘saat vaade’ (seven promises of Congress) are as following:

    Prosperity of families

    • Free 300-unit electricity
    • Free medical treatment upto ₹25 lakh, on the lines of Chiranjeevi scheme

    Empowerment of Women

    • ₹2,000 every month for women over 18 years
    • ₹500 every month for gas cylinders

    Secured future for youth

    • Recruitment for 2 lakh vacant posts
    • Drug-free Haryana initiative

    Strengthening social security

    • ₹6,000 old-age pension, ₹6,000 handicap pension and ₹6,000 widow pension
    • Restoration of the old pension scheme

    Rights for backward classes

    • Conducting a caste census
    • Raising the creamy later limit to ₹10 lakh

    Prosperity for farmer

    • Legal guarantee of MSP
    • Immediate crop compensation

    Housing for the poor

    • 100-yard plots
    • Two-room houses costing ₹3.5 lakh.
