    The friendship between Italian Premier Giorgia Meloni and Prime Minister Narendra Modi has generated tremendous online conversation and memes, following the invite to Indian PM to the G7 Summit. The two leaders shared candid moments that gained a lot of attention on social media and made the hashtag #Melodi trend for the second time. The leader’s happy appearance and friendly meeting made the netizens go ‘aww’.

    G7 Summit meet 

    Born on 15 January 1977, Giorgia Meloni is an Italian politician who has been serving as the Prime Minister of Italy since October 2022. She is the first women to hold this position. The Italian premier is topping the headlines with her latest G7 Summit 2024 event which was hosted at Italy. In G7 Summit, the heads of the 7 nations- Britain, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan and the United States, gathered to discuss on few agendas. Along with the members there were many other representatives from the European Union. Finance ministers from South Africa, China, Brazil and India, who were the part of this summit. 

    Reunion of Italy-India 

    Following the G20 Summit in Delhi, Meloni made the symbolic decision to hold the summit in the Apulia area in southern Italy, inviting India as participant to gain significance in the global issues being debated at the G7 Summit.

    The hashtag #Melodi is a mix-up of the names of the two leaders. The short version gained a lot of popularity since PM Meloni used it recently. The tag was first used by netizens to express the cordial relationship between the two leaders, witnessed at many international events.  

    Shortly after the photo, PM Meloni took to her official social media handle and shared a video of both the leaders. The video clip depicted both the leaders waving at the camera as the Italian PM said,” Hello from the Melodi Team.” In response to her post, PM Modi said,” Long Live India-Italy Friendship.” Netizens could not hold their emotions over the ‘melodious’ reunion between the two leaders.

    The photos and videos of the leaders caused meme-lovers to flatter over them. One social media user commented on the post, “Meloni loves memes. She frequently gives bait for more”, while another said,” Two coolest and Powerful Prime Ministers in one frame.” 

    This heartfelt interaction of Italy-India leaders has gained the admiration among the netizens and a wave of joyous expressions. From memes to witty jokes, the duo is painted with creativity and enthusiasm. It also shows the positive relation between the leaders and the people of two nations. The meeting of India-Italy leaders has also marked the power the nations hold when together.
