    Knife Attack Near Beijing School Left 5 Injured

    In a shocking incident, five people including three minors were left wounded in a knife attack that took place in Beijing, China. The incident occurred near a primary school in Beijing, Northwestern Haidian district on Monday afternoon, October 28, 2024.

    According to the reports, none of the injuries have been brutal. However, the authorities have apprehended a 50-year-old man. He is identified as Tang and is currently under investigation.

    A video of the incident went viral on social media showing two children on the ground. Another picture from the incident depicts a man, having blood on his face.

    Notably, there have been frequent cases of knife attacks reported this year including several school children.

    The previous month, a 10-year-old Japanese student died after being attacked with a knife near his school. The incident took place in the southern city of Shenzhen. This incident took place months after another such incident came to light. Earlier in June this year, a woman and her child were injured at a bus stop and a Chinese woman step in to defend was killed.

    In another incident of a knife attack, that occurred in a Shanghai supermarket, it claimed three lives and left 15 injured. The suspect was identified as a 37-year-old man, surnamed Lin. He was detained by the authorities shortly after the incident.

    Law and Order Against Public Threat in China

    Meanwhile, the country has been addressing such cases of Public threat closely. Under the “Regulations of the People’s Republic of China on Administrative Penalties for Public Security,” individuals who are involved in such activities that pose a risk to the public can face detention for up to 15 days along with a fine of 200 Yuan.

    Additionally, this is to be noted that China maintains strict laws over using guns and weapons. Therefore, the incidents involving knives and homemade explosives have become quite apparent. In the latest report, it has been recorded that such incidents have often led to an impact on the mental health of the people.
