CM Yogi Adityanath Takes Holy Dip in Sangam at Maha Kumbh After Crucial Cabinet Meetings

Following the commencement of the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, accompanied by his state cabinet, participated in a sacred ritual on Wednesday, January 22, 2025. They took a holy dip in Triveni Sangam and offered their prayers.

In a recent video surfacing over the internet, the CM and the cabinet ministers were seen splashing water at each other.

Cabinet Meeting at Maha Kumbh

This development comes after a special cabinet meeting of the Uttar Pradesh government was scheduled to take place at Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj.

All 54 cabinet ministers of Uttar Pradesh were invited to attend the meeting. The meeting was expected to initiate significant proposals and schemes for the state government.

โ€œMany important decisions will be taken in the Cabinet meeting today. All cabinet members, along with the CM, will also take a holy dip at Sangam today,โ€ Yogi stated.

Akhilesh Yadav Slams Cabinet

Meanwhile, the Samajwadi Party leader, Akhilesh Yadav, criticized the move and slammed the cabinet, adding, โ€œKumbh, or Prayagraj, is not the place where political decisions should be taken. Many of us (Samajwadi Party people) must have gone to take a holy dip but didnโ€™t post a picture or tell you (the media)โ€ in a recent conversation with the media.

Some Insights of the Cabinet Meeting at Maha Kumbh

Additionally, the cabinet meeting at Maha Kumbh Prayagraj took place at the Triveni Complex in Arail. It aimed to minimize the disruption to the devotees visiting the Sangam for bathing rituals. Several key decisions and discussions also took place in the meeting.

Some highlights of the meeting are:

โ€“ The cabinet approved various development projects, including the construction of two new bridges in Prayagraj and the establishment of a medical college in Balrampur, named after former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

โ€“  New investment proposals were presented, including a significant โ‚น10,000 crore investment in Mirzapur and additional proposals in Moradabad.

โ€“  The government announced a scheme to provide smartphones and tablets to the youth of Uttar Pradesh, with allocated funds for the program.

โ€“   In collaboration with Tata Technologies, the state government decided to establish 62 Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) and five Centres of Innovation, Invention, Incubation, and Training to enhance skill development.

โ€“   The aerospace and defense policy, initially implemented in 2018, will be revamped to include new incentives to attract large investments into the sector.

Following the meeting, CM Yogi emphasized his plans to boost development and investment in the state. He also made several key announcements related to the establishment of three new medical colleges in Hathras, Kasganj, and Baghpat, aiming to strengthen and enhance the healthcare across the region.

Further, he also disclosed his plans to establish around 62 industrial training institutes and five centers for innovation, invention, training, and reinforcing the stateโ€™s focus on skill development and technological advancement.
