The Mumbai police control room received the threat on 27th November 2024, which prompted authorities to trace the call to Mumbai’s Amboli. A person had called and said that a plan is being made to kill Modi.
In this context, Mumbai Police have detained a 34-year-old woman, reportedly suffering from mental health issues, for allegedly making a threatening phone call against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, officials revealed.
The city’s police control room received the threat, prompting authorities to trace the call to Amboli, a western suburb of Mumbai. A case was registered, and a team was dispatched to locate the caller.
The woman was taken into custody for questioning, during which an investigation revealed her unstable mental condition. According to reports, the woman stated that a plan had been hatched to kill the Prime Minister.
Officials later classified the call as a “prank,” noting that she had no prior criminal history. Police stated that further investigations into the incident are underway.
After receiving the threatening call, the police have gone on high alert mode and started investigating the case. The person who called claimed that there was a conspiracy to kill Prime Minister Modi.
It is worth noting that earlier, Bollywood actors Salman Khan and Shahrukh Khan had also received threats to kill them over phone calls. Shahrukh Khan received a threatening call from Raipur. After this, the police went to Raipur and arrested the person. Similarly, a few days ago, a threatening message was received for actor Salman Khan at the traffic control room in Mumbai.
Meanwhile, it is also noted that PM Modi is slated to attend the three-day Director General of Police (DGP) and Inspector General of Police (IG) conference and hold a roadshow in Bhubaneswar. The Prime Minister will address a public meeting and hold a roadshow after landing at the Biju Patnaik International Airport, Bhubaneswar, in the afternoon hours on November 29.
The Prime Minister’s roadshow will be held from the airport to Raj Bhavan and then he will visit the state headquarters of the saffron party to meet the party leaders and workers for two hours. Several BJP MPs, Ministers, MLAs, and senior party officials will attend the PM’s meeting.
Earlier, Odisha Law Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan had informed that PM Modi will stay in the state for three days and attend the DG-IG conference, which is slated to take place from November 29 to December 1.
