Sonu Sood who has predominantly done important roles in Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil cinema has always caught the headlines for his social works and humble nature but this time the news about him is negative. According to the latest information, Sonu Sood has been issued an arrest warrant by Ludhiana’s judicial magistrate Ramanpreet Kaur. This arrest warrant has been issued against him as he has skipped a testimony in a fraud case filed against him.
The arrest warrant has been sent to the Oshiwara Police station in Mumbai’s Andheri West, with the instruction to the police officials to arrest Sonu Sood and present him in court.
Who Filed the Case?
Rajesh Khanna, a Ludhiana-based lawyer filed a case of INR 10 lakhs of fraud case against him. He alleged that the main accused Mohit Shukla made him invest in a fake Rijikka coin, and summons were sent for him to appear in court but he did not appear in the court showing disregard for those summonses. Hence a court order has been sent now against him claiming his arrest.
The Court Order
The court order issued read that Sonu Sood, (S/o, W/o, D/o) resident of R/O H.NO 605/606 Casablanca Apartment, has been duly served with summon(s) or warrant(s), but has failed to attend (absconds and keeps out of the way to avoid service of a summon(s) or warrant(s)). You are hereby ordered to arrest and bring the said Sonu Sood before the Court,”
The order continued stating ” You are hereby directed to return this warrant on or before 10-02-2025 with an endorsement certifying the day on and how it has been executed, or the reason why it has not been executed,”. The next hearing of the case is scheduled for February 10th.
Sonu Sood’s Response on Social Media
Sood also spoke regarding this matter through his social media in which he said ” We need to clarify that the news circulating on Social media platforms is highly sensationalized. To put matters straight, we were summoned as a witness by the honorable court in a matter about a third party to which we have no association or affiliation. This is just for unnecessary media attention to grab eyeballs. Sadly, celebrities become soft targets, we will take action in this matter.” the story read.
Recently Met Andhra Pradesh CM
Just days before the arrest warrant was issued, Sood met with Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu. On Monday, he donated four ambulances to support and enhance the state’s healthcare services.
Taking to his Instagram handle, the ‘Fateh’ actor shared a series of pictures with Naidu in which he was seen greeting and posing with the CM for the photographs.
“Ambulances are crucial in saving lives, and I am happy to start this journey of ensuring patients receive timely treatment by donating four ambulances to the state of Andhra Pradesh. A heartfelt thanks to @ncbn.official sir for the support and guidance as we continue our efforts in working towards a healthier India,” he wrote with the photos.
On the professional front, Sood was last seen in Fateh alongside Jacqueline Fernandez. The film marked his directorial debut and also featured veteran actors Naseeruddin Shah and Vijay Raaz in pivotal roles. In Fateh, Sood portrayed a former special operations officer who joins forces with an ethical hacker, played by Jacqueline, to dismantle a dangerous cybercrime syndicate
