Kashyap ‘Kash’ Patel, nominated by Donald Trump for FBI director, greeted his family by saying ” Jai Shree Krishna” at his confirmation hearing. He touched his parents’ feet to take their blessings.
“I would like to welcome my father, Pramod, and my mother, Anjana, who are sitting here today. They travelled here from India. My sister, Nisha, is also here. She also travelled across the oceans just to be with me. It means the world that you guys are here. Jai shree krishna.” Patel said in his opening remarks.
The Indian origin presented himself as a suitable candidate to lead FBI, an agency he claimed had lost public confidence. He assured the senators of his commitment to the transparency and proper procedure, if he is confirmed as director. He had to go through tough scrutiny of the senators. If confirmed, Patel would be the first Hindu and Indian- American to be FBI Director.
Who is Kash Patel?
Kashyav Patel born in New York in 1980 to a Gujrati parents, spent a part of his childhood in East Africa before returning to the US. He graduated from Garden City high school in Long Island. He then completed his law degree and a certificate in International law from the University College, London Faculty of Laws in the United Kingdom.
Patel held several key roles in government, including serving as the National Security Advisor and Senior counsel for the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence (HPSCI).
