    Read Later

The biggest spiritual spectacle, MahaKumbh 2025, is currently underway at Prayagraj from 13th January to 26th February in a grand manner. The MahaKumbh has attracted visitors from India and various parts of the World. This year’s Kumbh is considered special due to the stars’ celestial alignment which happens once in 144 years.

The third holy dip at the MahaKumbh has been prepared with several safety measures to avoid any mishap as it occurred during the second dip. This time the UP government aims for an error-free holy dip to take place at Maha Kumbh.

Third Holy Dip At Maha Kumbh

Government officials have implemented a ‘Zero Error’ approach to the third holy dip at Maha Kumbh to ensure the safety of the devotees this time. The tithi for the third holy dip began yesterday at 9.14 am and ended today morning at about 6.52 am. According to the official reports about 90 lakhs of devotees have visited Kumbh so far and it is expected to have more numbers this time, when the 13 Akharas and the Naga Sadhus will begin their Amrit Snan.

    What Happened On Mauni Amavasya?

The second holy dip that happened on January 29th on the day of Mauni Amavasya witnessed a tragic incident. Due to more than 7 crores of visitors to the Kumbh that day, it led to a stampede-like situation. This caused the death of about 30 people and injured more than 60 people. Hence this time Yogi Adityanath has insisted the officials ensure an error-free event.

Operation 11- Strict Guidelines to Be Followed

Strict guidelines have been issued by the authorities for the Akharas performing the Snan. The mela area spanning about 40 sq km has been prepared to regulate the crowds then and there. A crowd control plan has been prepared named Operation 11 which comprises away traffic system, strategic barricading, and increased police presence at crucial points

To stop overcrowding at important places, the devotees have been advised not to stand still or roam in the bathing areas once they have done with their activity. Holding areas have been set up at various important locations to manage the crowds efficiently

A strict one-way route has been implemented having entry at Kali Sadak and exit via Triveni Marg. Until Feb 5 the mela zone has been declared as a no-vehicle zone and no vehicles are permitted to the mela area. Trained and experienced officials such as IAS Officers Vijay Kiran Anand, Ashish Goyal, and Bhanu Chandra Goswami have been appointed to handle the crowds at the melas as they have successfully handled the 2019 Kumbh.

Akhil Bharatiya Akada Parishad President Mahant Ravindra Puri has insisted the pilgrims explore other bathing areas other than the Triveni Sangam. Regarding this, he said, ” The entire 5 Kms of Pragyaraj is as pious as Sangam, devotees can and should bath anywhere, from Phaphamau to Arail.”

    District Magistrate On Safety Measures

The District Magistrate Vijay Anand has revealed that the team is on high alert and all the necessary steps have been taken to ensure the safety of the devotees visiting Pragyaraj. He also stated, ” It is a major bathing day and since we witnessed over 3.5 crores of visitors on Makar Sankranti (On the first day of Amit Snan), the visitors are expected more this time”.
