When regimes collapse, everything is flung open. Protestors are out breaking the law and order. The current situation of Bangladesh somewhat resembles the situation of Sri Lanka, where students and people were out on roads to protest against Gotabaya Rajapaksa in 2022.

Soon after the news of PM Sheikh Hasina resigning and fleeing to India became widespread, protestors looted and ransacked the PM’s official residence. The images and videos circulating over social media showed people destroying and taking Hasina’s belongings, like furniture, paintings, luggage and clothing.
