Saif Ali Khan was stabbed multiple times at his Bandra residence in an attempt at robbery on January 16th. The accused was arrested on January 19th om Thane. Recently an identification parade was conducted by the Mumbai police on Wednesday
The Identification Parade
The identification parade for the stabbing case involving Saif Ali Khan and the accused Sharifuil was conducted at Arthur Road Jail. This has been conducted after taking the accused into judicial custody for about one week. Saif Ali Khan’s house help and nurse arrived at the mentioned place to identify the accused.
The whole process was done in the presence of the Tehsildar and 5 panchas after it was ordered by the court. The process involved the witnesses examining 10 individuals including the suspect. Reportedly these individuals had almost similar physical characteristics such as build, skin tone, and height.
The parade took place for about 10 mins and the suspect was correctly identified by Saif Ali Khan’s servant and the nurse. Additionally, the police also did facial recognition test while investigating the accused on January 31st and the test turned out to be positive. Hence CCTV footage Positive facial recognition tests and the identification parade also have positive results, police have evidence to prove the accused guilty.
According to the police investigation, Shariful entered Saif Ali Khan’s residence with the sole intent of robbery but things didn’t go as he had planned and Saif confronted him. He stabbed Saif several times to escape the situation but unfortunately, he was arrested with a bunch of pieces of evidence and proof.
Rumors Being Speculated
After Shariful’s arrest rumours were being spread that the fingerprints of Shariful did not match with that of the accused. But additional Commissioner of Police Paramji Singh Dahiya refused these rumors last month of fingerprints not getting matched
He said ” Whenever an accused is arrested Multiple pieces of evidence are collected against it. We have found much oral, physical, and technical evidence against the accused. We have caught the right person”
Shariful’s father who is a functionary at the Bangladeshi NBationakist party claimed that his son was innocent and he was being framed. He also claimed that the facial textures and the hair seen in the CCTV footage released by the police were not his son. With the identification Parade, all the rumors could come to an end.
What Happened To Saif Ali Khan?
After the stabbing incident, Saif was admitted to the nearby Lilavati hospital with six stab wounds and underwent extensive surgery. A piece of the knife was taken out from near his spine. He was discharged from the hospital after spending 5 days in treatment. His security forces were tightened up after the incident. The actor’s security is overseen by Ronit Roy’s security firm.
The accused who attacked Saif in his Bandra Residence is a Bangladeshi who had come to India without any proper documents illegally with the help of middlemen. He was a driver in his native village and moved to India to earn more money. He has a father, mother, wife, and child. His father revealed that he is very close to his family and was in constant touch with them.
