According to the recent reports received, a small American aircraft collided in the middle of the air with a military jet near Ronald Regan Washington Airport. Certain sources reveal that the plane was carrying about 64 people. The American plane PSA Bombardier CRJ700 and a military Sikorsky H-60 helicopter collided in the sky leading to the tragic loss of 18 lives so far.

According to the Federal Aviation Association, the airline had departed from Wichita, Kansas, and was approaching the Washington airport when the collision took place. The aircraft crashed above the Potomac River. It has been reported that there were 60 passengers and 4 crew members in the plane.
Rescue Operations
The officials stated that rescue operations are happening at a large scale, and it is very difficult to navigate the bodies of the people in the river. According to the information received from the law enforcement officials, no survivors have been found yet. According to the FAA, the incident happened at 9 PM EST. Emergency respondents are trying their level best to take out bodies, but the situation seems challenging. Rescue boats were launched, and helicopters were also searching the affected area. All other flight services have been halted. After the moment of collision, the voice of another pilot could be heard in the tower’s frequency asking “Tower, did you see that?” and immediately the air traffic control from the tower began diverting the incoming flights as the tragical incident became evident to the concerned officials.

 In the wake of a tragic accident, American Airlines has set up a toll-free number for people to gather information regarding loved ones if they have boarded a flight and met with an accident.  The number is 800 675 8215. This number can be used to get the valid information. A small toll-free number has been announced for people calling from Canada, Puerto or the US Virgin Islands for inquiries. The emergency response teams included various departments such as the US Park Police, the DC Metropolitan police department, and the US military Personnel. The emergency teams are working continuously to find the bodies of the people as soon as they can.

President Donald Trump was briefed about the tragic incident by his Press secretary Karoline Leavitt confirming that both the federal and the local law enforcement teams are coordinating to carry out the rescue operations. Vice President JD Vance has also shared on his X page that they have been monitoring the situation and let everyone hope for the best.
