Johnson, known for his contributions to Indian cricket on and off the field, passed away due to injuries sustained in a fall at his residence.
Early Life and Cricket Career of David Johnson
Before becoming a strong player for Karnataka Cricket team. Johnson played 72 local games where he showed his skill as a right-arm fast bowler. His notable achievement in cricket includes a career best bowling score of 8/55 and a 101* with the bat.
His impressive debut performance of 10 for 152 against Kerala in the 1995-96 Ranji Trophy season paved the way for his selection in the national team.
International achievement and Notable Performances
Johnson made his debut on the international stage during a special cricket match in Delhi in 1996. He delivered at 157.8 km/hr dismissing Micheal Slater (an Australian former professional cricketer who played 74 test matches and 42 One day Internationals for the Australian cricket team.)
His talent earned him a spot in the South Africa Tour. In the first match of the tour, Johnson made significant contributions and took key wickets including those of Herschelle Gibs and Brian McMillan.
