Teen Revealed Their Plan to Earn Money

According to the police one girl aged 11 years old and the other two were 13 years old. The three were the residents of Dharashiv district. The investigation further disclosed that the girls made a plan on Friday to travel to Pune in search of work. Their goal was to earn enough money to fund their dream trip to South Korea. During interrogation, the girls revealed that their ultimate aim was to meet the members of BTS, the internationally famous K-pop group.

The Omerga police subsequently reunited the girls with their parents, who were promptly informed of the incident.

The Fever of K-POP Raising Concerns

This is not the first time that teens have tried something like this. There are many earlier attempts made by fans to meet their idol. The wave of K-pop is engulfing India impacting the mental health of young fans of India specially the girls. K-pop idols, especially the most popular ones like BTS, Black Pink, EXO, SEVENTEEN, and many more are idealized to the point of obsession. Teenagers are immersing in these trends neglecting their studies, personal relationships, or mental well-being.

Moreover, K-pop fandoms are known for their intensity. Some fans engage in online harassment of those perceived as competitors, such as rival groups or even other fans. This toxic fan behavior can foster an unhealthy environment for both the idols and their followers.

Parents, educators, and fans themselves must work together to ensure that the passion for K-pop does not overshadow personal growth, relationships, and overall well-being. Following your idol is great, but obsessing over them where it starts impacting your well-being is a topic of concern.
