In a harrowing incident that has left the Noida community in shock, 55-year-old Noor-ul-lah Haider allegedly murdered his wife, Asma Khan, 42, suspecting her of infidelity. Following the act, Haider walked over two kilometers to the Sector 20 police station to confess.

The Tragic Event

On the afternoon of April 4, 2025, in their Sector 15 residence, Haider reportedly used a hammer to bludgeon Asma to death. Family members indicated that the couple had been engaged in a prolonged argument the previous night. After relatives intervened and left that morning, Haider allegedly locked their bedroom door, muffled Asma's screams with a pillow, and committed the fatal act.

Family Dynamics and Background

Asma was a civil engineer employed at a private firm in Noida's Sector 62. The couple had two children: Samad, a 19-year-old BTech student at Amity University, and Inaya, aged 12. The family resided in a two-story house in Block C of Sector 15.

Sequence of Events Leading to the Tragedy

According to Nadeem, Asma's brother-in-law, the couple had been experiencing frequent disputes. Early on the day of the incident, Asma reached out to her sister, Farida, seeking intervention. Farida and other relatives arrived and spent over five hours counseling the couple before departing around 11 a.m. Asma's mother, Husnara Begum, remained behind in an attempt to calm the situation. It was after the relatives left that the fatal confrontation occurred.

Police Investigation and Legal Proceedings

After surrendering, Haider was taken into custody by the Phase 1 police. A case has been registered under Section 103 (murder) of the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita. The authorities have sent Asma's body for an autopsy and are conducting further investigations.
