A Delta Airlines that was about to land in Canada landed upside down injuring about 17 people. On Monday, the aircraft arrived from Minneapolis USA at Toronto’s Pearson Airport in Canada carrying around 76 passengers and 4 crew members. This sudden tragic incident caused the people to walk over the ceiling to escape the situation.
Aircraft Landing Mission Failed
The Aeroplane Endeavor Air Flight 4819 had 80 people on board and was about to land in Canada in the afternoon but landed in the wrong way, causing havoc for the passengers. This unusual landing on the aircraft in Canada from the US was taken as a video and was circulated on social media. This video went viral on social media rapidly
The video of the incident was taken despite a flight attendant’s warning to not take videos of the incident. She was heard shouting not to take videos. The emergency workers rushed to the scene after the plane landed upside down on the Tarmac that was partially covered in snow from a winter storm over the weekend.
Confirmation From the Authorities
The airport authority at Toronto Airport confirmed that the incident happened at around 2.15 pm. The air[ort operations were halted for about two hours and the two runways were closed for the investigation, where the aircraft landed in an upside-down position.
Conversation Between Air Traffic Controllers
An Omge air ambulance transported one child to Tornoto Sick Kids Hospital and two more adults to another hospital. Upon having discussions with Air traffic controllers with the medical helicopter crew, they concluded that the plane came to rest at runways 23 and 15L, near the start of the runway. A controller was heard saying that people were walking around the aircraft, to which the helicopter pilot was heard responding that they had seen it and the plane was upside down and was burning.
Weather Conditions Could Have Caused the Accident
It is not very clear why the plane landed in an upside-down position but the weather conditions at that time could be one of the important factors. The Meteorological Service of Canada reported blowing snow and wind speeds of 32 mph (51 kph), with gusts up to 40 mph (65 kph). The temperature at the time was 16.5 degrees Fahrenheit (minus 8.6 degrees Celsius).
Other Official Statements About the Incident
Airport fire chief Todd Akiten said that it would not be right to comment about the aircraft clast at the Toronto airport without the investigation report, He stated that the runway was dry and there were no crosswind conditions, hinting that this could also be the reason for the plane crash.
Greater Toronto Airports Authority CEO Deborah Flint said, “We are very grateful there was no loss of life and relatively minor injuries.” The number of reported injuries was revised from an earlier count of 19.
Flint had a sigh of relief as there were no passengers with critical injuries A child, an old man at the age of 60, and a woman at the age of 40 were seriously injured. She also stated that care for the passengers is the main focus for the crew members now.
